Cross for medieval church?

Any suggestions for an off-the-shelf or simple customization option for a cross to put at the top of a medieval church?  Not ready for custom molds or anything that complicated, but would love a simple option!

A starting point might be, did mediaeval churches have crosses on the top of the spire or tower?  Pictures suggest that the answer may well be, "No or not always".

A simple cross like that would be quite appropriate.

3287 Jousting set comes with two flag poles (30 24 8860) which have crosses on the top of them. Cut them off at the desired height and slot them into the top of the roof.

I think the shape of the building is what set it out as a religious building. I had a look online but it's hard to find images of churches from the middle ages, too many fantasy images out there.
It looks like they didn't all have them, some had a ball on top, some had a cross on the end of the roof rather than the spire.

I've seen hundreds of old churches. I can't say for sure what is original and what was added later, but crosses are not unusual. Sometimes you see them on the spire, but oftentimes they will be on the front peak above the entryway. Some churches will have a free-standing stone cross in front of the church. The cross from the mountain set would have worked nicely for this, but it got axed before the set was released.

A simple white cross, like what you see atop some alpine mountains. I think there was a photo or a link to a photo on PF because it was rather controversial.

I always imagine very slender crosses with a rooster on top. You'd have to look for old drawings maybe, to know what it looked like back then.
