5952 Ambulance. Made in China
« on: February 25, 2016, 23:33:50 »
I bought this for my kids and I was very disappointed to see it was not made in Germany. The overall quality is noticeably different. Not in a good way. How many sets were made in China? Is there a list so I know in the Future?

Playmobil is made in Germany, Spain (large sets), Czech Republic (small sets) and Malta (klickys). Bootlegs from China are known to excist, but as far as I know this is not legal.
I certainly like to see a photo of 5952.

I believe there was a fire truck, a school bus and a dragon made in China.

I have the dragon - if you look too hard, the wings fall.

Tahra is right, those models were produced in China for Playmobil on behalf of either Target or Toy 'r' Us or some similar US chain which wanted Playmobil on the cheap.

Also the "blocky" looking garbage truck and SWAT vehicle
I'm glad that I'm not the only one :)
