6196 - Space Shuttle

I recently acquired the new space shuttle from the City Action line.



The rockets boosters have a light feature. I need some batteries...


Cockpit




Rear compartment which also features some lights with satellite/death ray.


Seat for the copilot


Going EVA. The set features a little plug that allows you to hook an astronaut to the arm.


It's a neat set that can be connected to the rocket that comes with the 6195-launch pad set.

I really like this set. The blue lights for the exhaust are great. Astronauts are wonderful too.
Jangmobil on YouTube did good video reviews of the sets in this series showing the lights and sounds well.

Gorgeous! Since it doesn't fit in with anything I currently have, I decided against this set. But it looks splendid!

I am the same way.  I like it, but can't justify it.  That is unless my nephew shows an interest in it- and we all know that I spoil him!

The female astronaut has a male body? Uhm. Not good.

Didnt even consider it was a woman myself, thought it was a guy with eyelashes, maybe a transgender clicky?

They probably gave her a male body since space suits are bulky and not really form fitting.
That and they'd have to create a brand new chest rig to accommodate the female torso, so they went with the cheaper and easier solution.

Probably yes. A real shame. With the amount of new parts they churn out, I'd rather have that one....

I seem to remember that the first female astronauts had to make-do with men's space suits.  Life becomes art!
