6811 gamekeeper's house
« on: January 03, 2016, 17:36:58 »
I hadn't planned on buying this set, 'cause it's only a front wall for a house and I don't want to encourage that. But when I was in the toy store my newborn started crying her head off after 5 minutes, so I had to make some *snap* decisions and I ended up grabbing this set too. Mainly because there are too many interesting new parts to order separately from DS:

- pheasant
- new mushrooms (brownish)
- large tree with bird house and swing
- pretty front of the house

I'm glad I bought it, 'cause it looks quite good all together. So thank you, hysterical baby girl  :-*

The gameskeeper looks nice in his uniform, but I don't like the woman (her hair, her shirt) and the boy is a repeat

New mushrooms!

What do you think about this set? I paid €52,95 for it. An entire house would have been more expensive, I reckon.

:lmao: :lmao:

I like the woman (hair excepted), without coat or longsleeves (I think her shirt looks xmasy)... The guy's hair is.. well... THAT hair, but he's nice. The boy is indeed known, and that hair sculpt is hedious (for both boys or girls)..

I like the new single mushrooms... And that bird house (and the tree).. The chimney is ADORABLE, but part of the stupid system WHY house, so... not a question.

The pheasant is a must have!

Thanks for the review :)

Well it comes in a separate piece, but it can't stand on its own because of a protruding bit at the bottom (which clicks into the frame of the house). I was thinking I could maybe convert the house into something that would fit in a Roman type village, with brown instead of green parts. Seeing the thing up close, I don't think it's a possibility.

It is?! I got the idea it was part of the bulk of the house!

Don't do this to me! (and my wallet!)

Oh, ok then.  :P

The house looks quite nice, and that pheasant is great too! That swing on the tree is a nice new touch as well.

Great little set though the house could have been a bit more complete at the sides.

Hmmm, the pheasant sounded interesting, but it's nothing colours are like any of the pheasants I've seen in our garden!

I ordered the nestbox and swing-branch from Parts.  The nestbox is lovely (and can fit on any tree part) and the swing-branch will be very useful - but it seems to be a different colour to my other trees:

I thought about purchasing the pheasant (which looks near-enough in colours to me!) too, but it was a bit expensive at €2,60, so that has been added to the maybe-next-time list.  I never even noticed the mushrooms - and I love Playmobil mushrooms!

I think that the house front would look good with a forest surround.  From the back, though, it is more like a walker's hut than a forest ranger's/gamekeeper's living accommodation.  And what someone who is apparently looking after the forest and the forest animals is doing with a deer skull as decoration, I don't know!  Though it is a very nice deer skull.
