4796 Camouflage Pirate Fort with Ruby

..with Ruby and the cannon-arm guy!


I was on the fence with this one... When we got to actually checking which ones we'd order, my sister told me to get it... She kinda likes the little house (in spite of the system WHY), and I wanted Ruby... Also we were still missing the cannon arm guy, and we both wanted him.. Besides, loads of nice stuff (except the big bertha - neither of us is fond of them - we need to see which ones/how many of these we should keep).

Anyways.. box is emptyish

Ruby - we were very curious... She seemed off to me, and I was right. Her hips are FAR too wide for her upper body.. and she's also flat as a board. Without those laces on the legs, she looks weird(er). Also note the hole for the earring...

But the hair is normal!!!  I NEED more of these!

Torso is half painted.. (silly idea)




It's interesting that lately they've been plastering "playmobil" all over:

These are new, I think - at least we didn't have that gun thing in whiteish, or the barrels in red.. The big barrel, nice with the skull.




The little building is nice, a shame that is system WHY. I do think that skull comes too far from the building...

The barrel in front is a very interesting point. Adds character!

I am in love with the lantern... and hate the cannon there. Easy enough to fix.



The half roundish windows are beautiful, and the boarded one is a very nice detail..



Tiny house.. And I guess they float from one floor to the next..





The front of the roof is on hinges, so, very easy access...

Between the hair, the hair thingies, the belt, the neckpiece, it is hard as Tartarus to keep everything neat!








The cannon guy has a matching hat!





And as you can see, the half painted torso doesn't really match the coat.. so.. WHY BOTHER?!




(And this is the last Super 4 set we got. If anyone sees Twinkle's at a discount, please let me know? )

Wow, wait, the building isn't steck??  It made me think of the western steck houses so I just assumed it was too...

I'm really happy I realized this thanks to your review. I will not be getting this, then.

That's a good thing! I would have been really disappointed because I wanted to use the parts with western house pieces.

The barrel on the post is molded and not a separate piece?
It's interesting and could make nice filler for a port background. Still prefer Steck though, or even the old Western houses.

It's a shame the barrel is part of the foundation, it means that you can't use multiple of these houses together without having to buy extra supports that are full length.
The Jousting stand is the same right, you can't set it up without the rocks?
I also think the floor should be moulded or at least come with a mat to make it look more interesting.
I like the idea of the coloured side on the torso, but you'd think they'd match the colour better and also cover the arm hole better so that you can't see the white torso colour.
