Yes Gordon the yellow plant thing is the old giant fungus piece in a yellow. It works fine and is nice to see it show up once in a while.

We call that style a pole barn here. The Playmo one could be done without the back wall of course and would be even more open.

Thanks for the review :)

(I LOVE that greenish thing - is it a cloth? )

Yes, it's cloth that I use for my dioramas. It's flannel - soft and a bit fuzzy and not too prone to wrinkles.

It is GLORIOUS!    (probably hard for klickys to stand on, though, no?)

It's mostly fine, the white fleece I use for Christmas is harder to get them to stand on. There is a kid who fell over in this review but that's just because I didn't notice him at the time and make him stand up again.

Great review!

The tiny elephant enclosure is disappointing. It somehow looks bigger on the box.

Thank you for the great pictures of this lovely set. Though I don't have the new zoo yet. I think I like this one better. Most modern zoo's use glass and rocks to make the enclosures look as natural as possible. This zoo has the same look. Love the barn, this is really more appropriate for those beautiful elephants.
life in plastic it's fantastic

How long did the set take to assemble? The earlier 2004 version of the zoo is an absolute nightmare to construct, what with all the Sys X attachments and animal enclosures.

I much prefer the paddocks in this model. The rock formations and plant life appear to be much more abundant here than in the 3240.

Thanks for sharing your review! :)

I don't remember how long it took, but it is way faster than the 2004 one was.

Hi Tim!
I was wondering if it is possible to detach the elephant's trunk and turn it around so it is curved inwards like the old version of the elephant ...
Did you try that?
