better late than never ...

I've been ill over Christmas, I caught a chest infection from a family member when we were doing the gift run and it hit me on Christmas Eve of all days ...

anyway I got my City Life modern house for Christmas and spent several days getting it built up and just so,

please allow me to share pictures of how I made it my own ...

so this is the lounge and I altered a few pieces as you can see,



I used grey lego to make a more realistic looking cd player and added paneling to remove the door as I couldn't see the point having another one so close to the main entrance?



on this divider wall I fitted the microwave and what I think? is supposed to be a coffee machine? anyway it looks like one so that's cool with me   :)

 


the other side of the kitchen,



and the swimming pool,



and dining room,



and here is what I did with the other door ... a nip and tuck here and there  ...



I need a couple more lime green panels for my balcony so if anyone has a couple that they don't need I'd be interested in purchasing them for the right price?

The door step became a sort of 'splash back' wall,



and here is the bed I chose to fit in with some Sylvanian Families furniture I already had ...



as much as I liked the yellow drawer's, they didn't fit with the picture I had in my head of how I wanted the finished room to look so I adapted the walk in closet space ...



and tacked a mirror to the other side to make a dressing table,



then a quick shot of the yard and car complete's my photo share ...



I'm delighted with it and even though I've been ill I managed to get it set up to admire and enjoy.

I'll get around to looking at everyone else's gifts too but in the meantime thank you for looking at mine and

Really great! I love the alterations you made, especially the balcony -- using a planter for one of the railings was a brilliant solution -- and the vanity area. The furniture you used looks so much better in that house than it did in the house it came with. Really nice and modern, and you've chosen great furniture to match the colors of the walls and floors and everything. Well done!

Oh and yeah, I think that is a coffee pot. A really fancy one.

Thank you Tahra, Bonniebeth and Rasputin.

I've kept going well enough Tahra but I think come Monday morning it will be a Doctors visit for some antibiotics, cough medicine and vaporub hasn't fared so well, the up side is that hubby doesn't seem to have caught it.

Thank you Bonniebeth, the balcony is a feature that I'm quite taken with too, I'm glad I had enough parts left over to create it.

Oooooh lovely!!  :love:

I really like the living room and the little area you've created for the laptop. What a great idea to take out the second front door (the area is too small anyway to be used as a guesthouse), and then use it for a balcony. It looks very nice with the plant pot, like Bonnie said. The mirror is gorgeous too.

I also fell in love with the Sylvanian wardrobe and dresser you have. I must go and see if they're available at the toy shop in the city here.  ;D

Sorry to hear you've been ill. Mitri (my boyfriend) has been down with fever for days too, he didn't even get to celebrate the new year. It always comes at the worst time imagineable!

Birdie I'm sorry to hear your young man is poorly, I hope he gets better soon. A warm bath is good for getting a temperature down, perhaps he could try that?

I was lucky with the Sylvanian Family stuff, I purchased a Lundby dolls house from a charity shop a few years ago. The house was a fixer upper and I ended up making it into a stable for my Breyer's, the furniture was boxed up in the loft until I discovered Playmobil wasn't just for kid's  8}

Talking about Lundby, I'd always fancied the Stockholme house but it doesn't come with furniture or anything, this City Life property reminds me so much of the style of the Stockholme, a modular property one I should like to live in myself if I was a young career woman   :)

Wonderful job, Mandy!  Looks like you had a grand time building and decorating.  I got a kick out of the mix of the Sylvan furniture.  Decorating is not my forte, but I think you a super job, so pleasing to look at.  The bug hit us here in PA as well, just getting back to feeling like my old self.  Thanks for sharing your picsjoe

The building and planning did take my mind of being poorly but you know how it is, you have to push yourself otherwise you'll just curl up and feel sorry for yourself ... onwards and upwards
