2014 Magazine Pony, Gold Knight, Red Angel and Green Wyvern
« on: November 16, 2014, 16:48:00 »
This is a review of some of the figures from the Playmobil Magazine from late 2014.
First up is the black and white pony (type 2).

As you see it is the pinto type and comes with some food as well as a curry comb and riding crop.  This is the same style as the one in the Special Plus but with black and white rather than brown and white.

The second Magazine figure I am reviewing is the Golden Knight from Boys issue 6/2014. I don't have the original packaging on this one.

The shield pattern is a repeat use but the color scheme is unique to this figure. This shield type has never been gold before and the combo with blue looks great. I also really like the red and gold combo on the figure. I also think that this armour style is the most realistic looking they have done, with the molded arms and legs rather than snap on parts as in the past.

The third item in this review is the Red Angel from the Girls Magazine issue 5/2014. This is a Christmas Special one and very nice, it uses the same molds as the white angel from the Duo-Pack but here in a great looking red and gold color scheme.

The figure itself looks great, and if you pop off the head and remove the collar piece it could easily be used in other settings. I really like this wing style and the fact they have used the collar rather than having the System X hole in the back as on some winged figures.  It's just unfortunate that it is a Magazine figure rather than a general release one. I got mine via Germany but the figure is showing up through a couple of the Malta sellers on eBay.

The final item in this review set is a green and red Small Wyvern type 3. It will be in the Playmobil Magazine issue 7/2014. I got this one through a Malta seller as it was cheaper than I can usually get the magazine items via Germany.

I really like this small Wyvern type, and the green and red color looks great. It should match up color wise with the newest dragon from the look of it.

Overall I really like the late year releases from the Magazine. The next Girls one up will be an Ice Princess that is looking really nice too. I need to check it against the past similar releases to see how different it is. I suspect it is much like the one from the Figures series. Thanks for reading!

Nice reviews the Angel and the Knight look very nice good colour schemes on both of them, I'm generally not a fan of that type of shield and sword but, it works well with that Knight and the chest armour is very nice, I like the armour of the old Knights but, as you say the new type of armour does look good particularly the arm armour. I also like the man you displayed with the pony and the little dragon type creature is nice, the Robin Hood figure is nice but, an old figure in fact I'm sure I had him as a kid.

Great review of the mags. I know some of them but I have never seen the woman in red  :o I like and want her  Have to go check these "Malta Sellers" on auction  >:(

Now my question is why the pcc would not put these up for sale   ???
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

They could get.. MONEY <gasp>. Foreign money on top of everything!

(I got a couple of the red women, before I knew where she is from.)

edit: I didn't notice it either Tiermann - I showed him to my sister (I hadn't seen him before) and she said that!
