Kids Meal Promotions
« on: July 13, 2014, 21:14:31 »
Forgive me if this has already been mentioned. I remember in the 80s when Playmobil teamed up with McDonalds to put Playmobil in the happy meals... And the Mystery Figures are a step towards the collector demographic.

It could create an interesting promotional toy idea using the mystery figures. Obviously for the under 4 crowd you could use a 1.2.3 figure but boys and girls kids meals using the mystery figure concept..  Put an accessory with them like they do with the figures (I realize there are lots of hoops to jump through)

For the boys you could use:

Policeman
Fireman
Mad Scientist
Construction Worker
Knight
Pirate

Girls:
Female Police Officer
Princess
Nurse/Doctor/Veterinarian

Then even creating a limited addition building like a McDonalds restaurant that you could but. It would do a lot to the modern city life theme.

Just a thought
I'm glad that I'm not the only one :)

Maybe for these happy meals they could limit this to clickies without any accesoires to make it available to practicly all ages and avoid issues that there used to be?

Could be modern clickies in various clothes without attachements, not even a hat but a nice hairstyle instead. They could wear a vest or something else that can't be removed without disassembling the entire clicky.
It may help endear the clickies to children of all ages and can be a good introduction to parents who arent familiar with playmobil yet.

Perhaps considering all the adult Klickies they're doing it may be nice to see a bit of variety in kid klickies with some accessories perhaps dressed in ordinary clothes with dressing up clothes to put on top as they've done before or maybe an adult and child klicky from historical theme. Anyway just an alternative thought  :)

That's a good idea too! It would introduce Playmobil to those who don't know anything about it

In Belgium (and probably in other neighbouring countries too?) they put f?gures in the 'happy meals' (= magic boxes) of the French fastfood chain called Quick, a few months ago.
It worked on my nephew, he's 7  :)

as a brand I would rather see playmobil associated with healthy food instead of junk food. Mc Ds, In N out, Buger King etc.... are unhealthy. I am not even sure there is such a thing as fast health food, I guess its called an apple.

I am just not sure inviting in a bunch of McDs clients into the playmobil world would end well. Just look at how the lazy mom and pops at Christmas time devastated the whole building system concept. Imaging how the McDs clients would complain

There is! Over here we have veggie and vegan 'fast food' restaurants, they don't serve French fries, but they have plenty of healthy and delicious take out dishes. Actually, in San Francisco there are also a lot of places like that, maybe the idea came from there.

In the US, I'm not sure it would make sense for McDonald's, economically. McDonald's food is cheap in the US (compared to other countries), so they would have to purchase Happy Meal toys at a very low price. I don't think Playmobil could compete price-wise with the typical junk toys included in American Happy Meals. It might work in Europe though. McDonald's food cost more in Europe.

I agree with Rasputin. McDonald's isn't exactly the brand I would want associated with Playmobil. I don't know if there are healthy restaurants that add toys to kid's meals.

Didn't Playmobil have a promotion with McDonald's years ago and there were some problems with over small parts with the figures?
