My collection
« on: June 14, 2013, 15:44:24 »
I've never posted pictures of my actual collection, only artwork and some customs. If I ever did it was probably back in the playmoboard years.
I will use this thread for updates throught the year.
To get started, I must say that I cannot always showcase my collection due to lack of space, hence most of my collection remains boxed and I only use certain sets when I'm going to take card-like pictures or to customize.

These are the shelves I use for the boxed sets (i still need to unpack ghost pirate and egyptian sets!)

The shelves on the right actually have two piles, one behind the other.  ;D 8}
Anyway, this was the only picture I took last night when I thought it was a good idea to start sharing images on the forum.

Tonight I'll tke pictures of promotional items (stickers, fun cards, books, pins, cups, birthday ornaments, etc) and old catalogs. :) and I will post them tomorrow.

Cool, very nice storing-space!
Am I correctly understanding; you mostly collect MI(S)B and only open up some sets? Or do you buy double the ones you intend to open and use?

Resistance is futile, you will be boarded!

Tahra, actually THE PROCESS was an inspiration for me to organize my playmoroom...I had a mess before (loose klickies for incomplete projects, etc) but it's all finally sorted out. ;D

Erwin, I'm not precisely a MIB collector - I try to buy all my sets brand new in sealed box, but I do open most of them (except for the rarest ones) when I have to use the pieces or figures for a photo shoot set up. There's still a few sets that remain unopened but I do plan to take out some time. I do not buy the same set twice with the intention of opening one and letting the other one sealed forever (I tried that once with the eskimo sets but I ended up selling the repeated ones). The ones I never keep in boxes (or with box) are the Specials. I do display those.
I also have plastic containers where I keep the add-ons and stuff I got without box. Some of the things in there are steck walls for victorian/medieval buildings, train tracks, train cars, vehicles, planes, animals, plants, fences, loose body parts, etc. See pics of that below ;D

I really like how you have used the corner space.  You can get a lot into a much smaller space that way.

I am like you, I have not opened my Egyptian nor Ghost Pirate sets either.  I'd like to set up the Egyptian stuff this summer.
