Lots of hats
« on: April 24, 2013, 16:22:56 »
I've been buying various lots lately, containing assorted things I will need for this summer's exhibition, but this lot which arrived today (along with 9 other parcels  ;D ) was particularly exciting for me.
A lot of over 100 hats - I do have lots of hats in my spares box, but here there are some quite useful ones -

but the ones that really made my day were these -

I had been looking for the yellow one for ages and thought that it was in the lot when I bid on it, but didn't spot the other two.
I have the lady and the man, so can complete them, just need to find the boy now - so if anyone has one spare ...  I have plenty of hats to trade  ;)

Wow that's a nice win! Its always great to find something special in a lot isn't it- especially if you suspected it might be there from the listing picture! I like the gold fireman's helmet. I love that tiger mask from (I think) 3026- is that the other mask (green dragon helmet with eyes) from the same set at top right?
As far as I can see (manual search of set pictures on PlaymoDB), the boy who wears that sailor hat came in these two sets. I hoped I might have him as a spare but I don't think I do, sorry. :(
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

hey Elaine, that sailor boy's hat could be 20(?) years old....Its amazing, how white it still is and the sticker still not faded, the owner(s) probably never played with it ;)

Indeed, it looks so new! What a lovely hat collection, many of those would go into my "want!"  list :)

What is the pink one, in the center of the image?

Great lot! That sailor hat (and boy) have been on my wishlist for a long time. I got the blue one not too long ago.

Nice lot of hats.  I love the beefeater wooly hat.   I know what you mean by finding extras in a lot.  I bought a used union artillery this week via kijiji and when I picked it up the lady said her son never really played with it and all the cuffs and collars are still sealed in their original bag!  It was a good $8 spent!

The right hat can change the appearance of any figure!  Great buy Elaine.  You should have a lot of fun creating new new looks.   ;)
