It's Arrived!
« on: February 09, 2013, 18:35:01 »
I won 2 ebay lots last week and have been patiently waiting for them to arrive.  Our postman doesn't usually deliver parcels on Saturday but today he did  :yippee:

I spotted these lots and never thought I'd win them, but luckily I did and one of them was something I've been trying to get for years

Circus Elephant lot .....

A closer view of that wonderful elephant with a howdah - I'd almost given up hope of finding one at a price I could afford and not only did I win it, but I got two!

The second one is missing a rail but I've bought one of those from someone else and that is on its way.

The second Circus lot was of mixed figures and accessories, clowns, musicians, acrobats.

Parts from 3512 acrobat set (actually parts from more than one set) ...

set 3578 ...

and extra clowns and drums from that set ...

The 3563 ice cream cart - missing its umbrella, but with the addition of a suitable flag.
I was pleased to find the lady in blue who is the lady from the 3510 circus ticket office and was missing from my set ...

3511 Circus band + extra figures ...

The 'conductor' is really from another set, but I thought he looked OK where he is...

Now I can add to my circus band - I have in mind a marching band for a display at Kirkbean,
so now I have 11 members of the band.

The mystery I do have is where the 2 yellow music stands come from - does anyone know?

Now you can see why there is one very happy Skypurr today - despite the dull weather there has been a big sunbeam over one house in Southern Scotland!

Nice buys, you do realise that we are expecting circus pictures in the future, right?  ;)

I am planning to do another circus display at Kirkbean this year, it has been popular in the past so thought I'd do an even bigger diorama this time.

Congratulations, Elaine, on those superb buys.  If you aren't a purist, I should imagine that the umbrella from the DS ice cream seller may fit the ice cream cart.  There are also some others in the leisure/vacation theme that might do.

Great buys! I love the elephants, and would love to have one of those "platform thingies" - thought truth be told, I never actually tried to hunt one.

I have the yellow stands (lost in the PROCESS), with the green band:

Hadn't seen that green band before Tahra, which set is it from?

Wow! Congrats! Those are GREAT vintage sets, and ones that are very hard to find. They look like they're in excellent condition. I look forward to seeing pictures of them in your displays in the future!
