Gordon's Firefighters and self-rescue training!

Hello Everyone,

Firefighters from Gordon's CHVFD recently participated in the PFD's firefighter self rescue class. During the class firefighters were taught new tactics and procedures on bailouts, ventilation, and civilian rescues.


The training started with basic skills. The pictures are from the 2ND day of training in which a live fire scenario was put into place.

The interior crew was quick to find the victims. The victims were lowered out of the 2ND floor window.

While crews were making an interior fire attack and searching for victims Gordon's men were busy doing ventilation.

Next the firefighters were faced with a flash over scenario. The task was to bailout a window onto a ladder.

It was a very successful training and the firefighters from Gordon's CHVFD did an excellent job.

Hello  Ben

I am speechless :wow: !! Your pictures where amazing to begin with but they are just getting better all the time :wow:. The amount of action you are managing to capture still photos is stunning. I am really impressed with them all but the venting of the roof with the chain saw is my favorite. It really does look like it is working because of the spray of dust at the beginning of the cut. Thank you again for sharing them with us :).

When Gordon's firefighter bailed out (upside down) onto the extension ladder, my heart skipped a beat. (I can't even imagine how that little klcky firefighter from the UK must have felt.) ...  8}
