Sunnday Trip to FP
« on: February 13, 2012, 11:32:32 »
After putting away all the extra items I didn't need for The Shops, I realized "Hey, I have have all this extra space... I need more stuff!"
So I made a quick trip to the FP, in the hopes they had the new Fi?ures Series 2... no luck there. But I still managed to bring home a few things:
5144 - Pegasus with Princess and Vanity
5145 - Royal Banquet Room
5147 - Royal Bath Chamber
5148 - Royal Dressing Room
Yes, these are a little too girly... but each set has some great pieces I plan to use in other projects.
4163 - Emperor's Knights Tournament Advent Calendar  (really like the Owl King and throne)
4749 - Medicine Man Special
4747 - Yellow Astronaut Special
7432 - Pink Flamingos 3pk. (for the old Florida Deco Hotel)
Now... as I browsed the store and noted the different shop add ons I wondered, what am I missing from The Shops... then I realized there isn't a place where you could have a nice, cold beverage... wouldn't it be great to have a Beer Garden?!? They were out of the Medieval House  :'(  So, I ended up getting:
6219 - Medieval Bakery (REALLY like this little building: love being able to put it together without requiring 50 thousand yellow pegs. don't love so much: No flooring on the ground floor, no easy access to the second floor/attic. Aside from that, I really like the look of it.
6218 - Large Barrel x4

On a more somber note, the FP store looked kinda messy. The dioramas they had were outdated, all over the place and dusty. Lots of empty drawers on the "Add Ons" section. Staff is nice, but seems to lack knowledge of items/release dates. It has happened many times, when I inquire about a certain series/items, the staff has a blank look in their faces and have to look in the catalog because they have no idea what I'm talking about. No, I don't expect them to be a walking PM encyclopedia (well, I kinda do), but at least know your product. When I inquired about the Series 2 Fi?ures, the nice young lady had to look in the catalog and declared they come out in August. I showed here the release date of February, then she replied: "Well, maybe in about two months" . Yikes! Trust me, if I lived closer I would apply for a part time job there. :) They could pay me in PM instead of money.

We don't have funparks in Belgium so we have to order the add-ons from DS. Nice stuff you got there.

wow...nice haul! i wish we had a FP where i could get easy access to PM...though i would think they should have the Fi?ures series 2 by now! wow. how sad  :'(

If you have any "too girly" bits you are looking to part with, let me know. I like the girly stuff!

also maybe you should have a toy shop or a PM shop for your klickies to shop at...or maybe an IKEA type store with home furnishings. just an idea.

I'd love some flamingos....hmmmmmmmmm might have to get some!

Sure, lots of times. We have created a wester diorama for them last september, if you recall. Unfortunately, its not easy to go there more frequently. It would be good to go, since most toy shops in my area are bringing in new sets very later in the year, others have stopped carrying playmobil all together, and none of them carry DS sets... these are only sold in the funpark. Also, our Playmobil Hellas, the greek playmobil branch, does not accept online orders, apart from DS sets from the little catalogue, nor do they accept credit card payment from a distance  8} Its ok to go there and charge your cc, but not trough the phone  ::)

You people are such a bad influence! Stop giving me ideas!  :P
(And, yes, I had already thought of a home furnishings store  ;))

It would be great to get paid in Playmobil for wages! However, I may need to live there in the stock room on a cot, but just think of the dreams I'd have, & wake up to see they came true!
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

Your purchases always make me want to drive for days to Florida and visit the funpark... then I remember that that isn't practical

why does the funpark have to be so far from New York  We need one up here too... and I suppose we should probably put one in California too  ;D
Someday, I will organize my stuff, I promise.
