Classic Klickies
« on: January 25, 2012, 16:59:03 »
In my klicky sorting process yesterday I got around to sorting out the classic klickies.
After going through all the Freetime sets I had, I found that I had quite a number of the old female klickies left that didn't belong into any of the sets I had,

After doing a search on DB I found I had hats and accessories to make up some individual klicky sets and thought they looked so nice that I added hats and accessories to a few more spares.

I often ignore the classic figures in favour of the more modern ones to put in my diorama, but I think these look every bit as good as some of the more modern ones with the printing etc.

What do you think?

Ones that belong in sets....

Others that I had spare ...

Now got all the spare classic men to sort... :)

These are all so beautiful Elaine!!! Even though the red readpieces in the first photo are more recent accessories, they do look fitting well with these vintage ladies  And that blue and yellow one in the third picture loos a great combination!!!

Yes, those are all great and that blue/yellow combo looks sharp. These sorts of klickies are always perfect for filling out audiences or busy street scenes.

They have a brightness and innocence with them that later klickies lack.  To me, the faces of these klickies seem much more childlike than the later ones.

Very nice looking klickies, Elaine! Very simple but beautiful.

well the clickies pretty much keep their innocence to me, as long as they have their smile and normal eyes.  I gues the evil eyebrows sometimes make them look a bit mean, but more of a cartoony mean so its alright.

I always used the classic clickies in my childhood, even when I had plenty of my own modern clickies. Mostly background characters but especially the pirates and soldiers where used a lot. The great part of them is that they can be used for any theme as long as you give them the right items.

I love these ladies!  :D Truth be told, the new figures have nothing on these wonderful figures of the old times. In fact, they hold up better since there's no printing which gets scuffed during play or even by rattling around in the sealed package.

These are some lovely classic ladies, Elaine!!! It's true, it's really easy to forget how nice these old style klickys can be!

They do seem to look more child-like, but I don't think it's the faces.
