Help with police set 3166
« on: January 01, 2012, 22:18:56 »
I'm in the process of sorting out all my klickies to see which belong in sets that I have and which are spare. So far after two days I have sorted out western and airport.
At the moment I am on police and am confused as to the klickies that go with set 3166

http://collectobil.com/catalogue/items/3166.htm

On the box the klicky with the beret is shown as having a collar and tie and a moustache, but in the Playmo DB inventory he had a peaked cap, and the other klicky has the beret,

http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/klicky.pl?partnum=30%2000%200132

http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-00-0142;pic_num=2

is this a mistake?

I also can't find the other klicky, just the peaked cap so I think I may have given him away in error  :(

If you have a box in hand then I would go by what it says. To me the way they are shown in PlaymoDB makes more sense and looks better than that in the Collectobil photos. It's possible they even switched the hats at some point on the boxes, or the Collectobil one is prepoduction. If someone has the box they may be able to say for certain. I would go with whichever you like best.

I have this set boxed with instructions, so can give the definitive answers! ;D

The box image is correct, as are the instructions scans on PlaymoDB.

The man with brown hair, moustache and tie should have the beret, and the black haired man should have the peaked cap.

It is the photographs scans on the database which are incorrect. They look like shots from a publicity brochure or similar, where it is possible that the two Klickies have been given he wrong hats to wear upon setup.

Yep,  Damo is right. I have this set and in my opinion, it looks better the way that it is advertised on the back of the box. :)
Life's essentials: food, water, shelter and at least one klicky.

Thanks for the verification, Damo!  Glad to hear I was mostly right.  The photos are indeed screenshots from the 3-D rotatable view from the official website, and I've been caught out by those before. If anyone would take nice clear photos of both officers - without hats or gadgets - I'd gladly use them instead.

Thank you everyone for the help. I don't have the box so wasn't sure.
Sorting out these klickies is a mammoth task, than heavens for your wonderful site Heather.
However I will probably be back for more help as I go on, especially with some of the older sets.

Well maybe both clickies grew tired of wearing the same hat all the time and decided to switch.

No, the two hats were a summer version with a white top and a winter version with a blue top (international sets) or a green top (German sets).

That's summer/winter versions?  :o
