Richard, I know what you mean about the electric trains. I wish Playmobil would go back to them. I fear it's not be however...

I took two pics of the hat in question on the engineer from the 4010 set. They are a bit blurry (grrr, new camera), but you can see the overall shape. I can try again if you need a clearer shot. Just let me know.
What's the point of going, if you can't get there on a train?

Thanks, Steve ...

Do you think that it's the same cap (but, in black) as the one from the Victorian Hotel Porter Set (5503)?

No problem at all Richard,
It does look like the same cap. It has the same brim and the slightly rounded top. I don't have that set, but I would say it's the same cap.

I'll need to check to see if they have any at the Playmobil US Direct Service.

All the best,
Richard

Hi Guys,

just seen your hat query - I have one very like this in blue, unfortunately no idea what set it came in as it was in an eBay lot, but I'm guessing it originated in a Victorian theme.

Not quite the same as that Porter's hat, as there's a (chin)strap moulded across the top front, and not the same colour.

The colouring is lighter than the US confererate soldier's jacket, and fractionally darker than his trousers - the same blue as the headless klicky to the right.

Steve, you probably have a macro mode, indicated by a flower, for taking close up shots. The focal length is usually about 6-8 inches. I find this ideal for klicky portraits, as long as you have a part of the klicky in the focus frame.

Hmmm - on about the 25th look, I see mine is a different moulding, but doesn't appear to be in Heather's database. The closest to mine is 30 64 9880 but that's black with some printing.

Wonder if we can get Andi to do a collection of different Playmobil hats (like his Playmobil head collection)?

Thanks for the photos, Martin !!!

All the best,
Richard

Thanks for the advice on the camera Martin! I am shooting in macro mode. I'll have to experiment with the distance and see what works best.

Good luck with the hat search Richard, I hope you are able to get the ones that you want.
