Title: Der Forums Exilanten Thread
Post by: Olki on December 02, 2006, 16:32:27
For all nongerman members: this thread will be in German. An exile for the refugees in Diaspora from the German Forum. Please excuse the rudeness of using another language.

So, geschafft!

Have you been a naughty boy, Olki? :whip:

I suppose that will be Ok, so long as you keep the German posts to one topic, and don't use this forum to air your grievances against other people. Please keep it nice and friendly. ;)

Btw, your English is excellent so there's no reason why you shouldn't take part in other discussions around the forum, Olki. ;D

(http://www.jr-x.de/pics/lang/de_small.png) ???

(http://www.jr-x.de/pics/lang/en_small.png) ???

Olki, can you explain this in more detail, please? What dictatorship? What about Yavin 5 (I'm not sure, that everybody on this board is familiar with Star Wars)? Are there "coming further people"? Should this thread be a riddle?

I'm just curious.

(http://www.jr-x.de/pics/lang/en_small.png) The empire has declared us to rebels so we had to emigrate. No, serious: I think that some people from the German board will take up residence here soon, because over there it won't work anymore.

(http://www.jr-x.de/pics/lang/en_small.png) Ah, I understand. Then first of all a warm welcome to the refugees.

Nevertheless I agree with Sylvia, and I hope that not a "German-language ghetto" will be established here, because we want all our members be able to take part or at least follow the discussion of this board (and the lingua franca is English here; I hope this will not be a problem to any of the refugees  :-\).
Anyway I understand that you first of all have to meet yourself and take a rest, so I assume that the non-german-speaking members will forgive you not being able to follow this thread in detail  :)

(http://www.jr-x.de/pics/lang/de_small.png) Ah, verstehe.

Hello Olki, All

I for one certainly don't have a problem with new German members joining this forum, however i hope that a divide will not be created with exclusive 'German' language posts. Many thank's to Little Jo who i consider a good friend for taking the time to translate the text and to solve the mystery for us. A few of our members have allready found out that most of the 'online' translators such as Babel Fish are not very accurate. I guess some of the new German members who don't speak English will have had the same problems and wonder if this is why they wish to post in German ? This will no doubt leave the rest of us wondering what is going on ? After all i know from first hand experience how difficult it can be joining a new forum where you don't speak the main language of its members.

Kindest Regards  Tim  :)

It wouldn't bother me much if we had mixed text of English and German, as most of you know I will just translate it to keep up with the threads.

I have already learnt a few German words from buying on ebay, learning a few more would be a good thing.

After all Isn't German the 1st Language of Playmobil?

We allways have Babelfish  ;)

http://www.babelfish.com/ (http://www.babelfish.com/)

Agree translations sometimes are very poor

But's better then nothing ;)

Language seems to be a prob sometimes
not everybody interested in playmo speaks or writes different languages
It's often something wich retains people to register on a forum

we are struggeling with the same problem regarding Dutch

Sad thing is , the more forum's the more INFO on playmo get's divided
but am workin on that

I keep coming back to this 'people allways be people' and dunnot have/need to agree

as long we Stay polite and follow the rules the forum we browsing on

and even that seems to be hard sometimes   ;)

greetz  ;)

welcome potzdorf,
i agree with sylvia - this has been and should continue to be an english speaking forum.
the reason why the babel tower colapsed had to do with the quantity of different languages used by the workers in the building site.
although the use of english could be seen as a discrimination to all non-english speakers, i tend to see it as practical way to allow me, a portuguese speaking member, to change ideas with you, a german speaking member.
a century or so ago, people in the sea used what was called "lingua franca" so that they could comunicate with each other.
in the sea, this need, when you are far from home and in need of help, was essential. it still is today and there is still a voluntary obligation to help a fellow sailor in distress.
english, meanwhile, naturally took over "lingua franca".
maybe because i am a pirate's theme fan, i see playmofriends in the same way as i see the sea - a place of freedom where you can help others and be helped by them.
if you are a refugee, you are even more welcome.

 :)

Done! ;)

It's in all caps, as you had written it, but if you prefer lower case (or a mixture of both) just say so and I will change it to suit. :)

Ooops!
Forgot something quite important...
I think you will still have to type in "potzdorff" when you log in, because the forum's software will not recognise OLKI as your username, even though this is what will be displayed beside all your posts from now on. ;)

hmm, after my account at playmo-portal has been
removed as well, I should add myself to this list...

For those who are interested into the reasons for my
deletion at playmo-portal, here is the short version:
C&C started to get into a escalating discussion with
some members and suddenly decided in having a
new beginning and have a first start in deleting the
members that caused troubles from their point of
view.

They did not used the ordinary penalty system or
banned them for a time, they removed their accounts.

In a second step, they decided to shut down the board
for some days and prompted to everyone to stay with
them and accept their leadership as it is or to give them
a note that they can remove their accounts as well.

Well, up to this point I was actually not involved in this
fight with just a single post. Okay, yes, there where some
other things that happend before (more part of a long
version.. ;) ) and I clearly have to say that I had strong
objections with their decisions before (and told them!).
So I wrote them a mail and told them that I disagree with
this way of cleaning and their current way of leadership, so
I fit into their target group and they have to delete my
account as well.

So they never commented or replied onto my mail...
...they just deleted my account.
 :hmm:

...still fighting the "prejudice" they would run a dictatorship.  :yup:

Well, to be honest, this is not that kind of environment
where I would like to celebrate my hobby anyway.

Anyway, it feels good to speak about it, as I never had the
opportunity to post my point to these events in the portal.
 :-\

best regards,
socrates

Hmmm, seems like an arkward way to get rid off members who disagree with the 'dictators' just deleting every account sounds drastic by any standard.

Still don't know WHY the exiles got kicked out in the first place??
Did they broke any guidelines?? Or just disagreed with the bosses??

I would like to give the exiles a warm welcome on this forum

when a board forgets the most beautiful french invention - liberté, egalité, fraternité - like playmoboard and playmoportal did, things tend to go wrong.
i like it here.
i hope the new members do too.

Hi everybody,  ;)

happy to see that it will come here more members. But I´m exactly so happy for this than another each one from another country. I don´t know the ground problem of this Portal and if some members want explain some of versions to me, they can do it at my PM. I have my mind about this Portal, advantages and inconvenients, but too I will don´t speak about this here. I´m not by PlaymoFriends of this reason at all. Happy to share some informations with peoples are with the same passion of Playmobil and all around.

I´ve some very good experiences on another Playmobil forums ( I´m by Playmofrance, Playmoportal, Playmoforo, Playmofriend and since a fews day too, by Playmoboard, it is a secret for nobody ) I don´t see a forum like a country but like a plate form of creativity and mentality of peoples. I do maybe in each forum a great experience, but for exemple by Playmoforo, in Spain, I don´t speak spanish at all, I use exclusively a translator " Babelfisch ". I give in this forum a lot of good thinks, what I can of course, and I fell a very good feed back. I feel well there like at home.

By PlaymoFriends we have to save a english language, and write so good we can. I mind that we can write somethink in french, german, etc.. but never forget to give a translation of text. It is a best solution, I mind.

I have a luck to have traveled around the world and now to live in another country. I am everywhere foreigner but everywhere at home if I respect the each other like myself.

best regards,

TJ :)

Hi,  :)

Lars

My English isn´t good enough, to translate this. I try it with babelfish:

Beautifully that the deleted user of the portal from the world are not. It changes there straight some. I mean to positives. Such excrescences as in the last weeks are in the future hopefully avoided.

Many greetings Lars
