Last week I got a lot of 3 Christkind angels that I wanted to customize.
I barely have spare parts but I'd been also wanting to do something with what I had. So, with the customizing mode set up I came up with (so far but more to come) 6 custom clickies, three 100% playmo and three with some….adjustments (color and shape)
So first the “all playmo” clickies.
First one is fun. Unconsciously I came up with it and then realised that with a couple of accessories she could be…. Sister Maria from The Sound of Music which is running at a theater for the first time in B.A. so it is a big deal around here!  I mean ….she reminds me of her!
Anyway….I had had an extra Dracula for ages and never decided what to do with him. With a few minor changes…. He is now a respectable, white glove Victorian Doctor.
And last is a Victorian Lady. Very similar to Gis’ wife’s custom for Karim story (so thanks for the inspiration) but again, just with what I had as spare parts, so in fact it is a coincidence. I love her!
Now, those that needed more work.
First a British Colonial Colonel (at least my version of it) who used to be a Santa Claus. I modified the coat adding lapels to the jacket (that I made myself) and a belt. Later of course I painted everything!
Then is Miss Alina Blanchard in her sweet sixteen dress. There's here some paint details in the skirt and bows and some glue. I love the one in the hair!! The details in gold where done with an airbrush and some micro stencil things that I found by chance at a hobby shop. I bought around 80 motives!
(http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb432/tonguello/6%20customs/DSCF2369.jpg) (http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb432/tonguello/6%20customs/DSCF2370.jpg) (http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb432/tonguello/6%20customs/DSCF2368.jpg)
And last but not least, Czarina Nadia Klikova. The one that took the hardest work. The skirt has a difficult paint job. I used a rubbery masking tape that works wonders with undulated surfaces (but is very hard to put in place) that worked really well to make the golden stripes. Then I modified the shape of the blue front just to make it a little different from the original but I didn't want to loose of the details. Then the hat from a guard wich chin stripe ended up in Greece, became this fashionable Russian hat with golden details again with a stencil.
Some more details in the chest and a fur scarf with a "Russian star" to complete the cold Siberian look!
(http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb432/tonguello/6%20customs/DSCF2371.jpg) (http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb432/tonguello/6%20customs/DSCF2373.jpg) (http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb432/tonguello/6%20customs/DSCF2374.jpg)
ENJOY!

Wow just wow, Gaston! The colonial colonel reminds me of this crazy hunter in Jumanji.
Best

Those are wonderful, Gaston, each one is better than the one before. The first is spot on for Maria, the colonel I can hear shouting, "There's a tiger - pass me me gun!" but best of all is Czarina Nadia Klikova.
:wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:
-
They're all wonderful Gaston! The first one immediately made me think of Maria, singing "I Have confidence in Me" before I even read what you said!
But Alina Blanchard... :inlove:  :inlove:  :inlove: She's beautiful! very simple but sooo elegant, and young and innocent-looking. The bow in her hair is a perfect touch. BTW, one of my best friends' name is Alida Blanchard.

Thank you guys! Im glad you like them. It's cool to see that each clicky fits a diferent personality and taste.
bb I don't remember that song.... but I hum "how do you solve a problem like Maria" when I see her

For that one she needs to be dressed like a nun, but with no wimple!

These are really excellent! Great work!
-
Wonderful Work. I also very much like the colonel !
-

Wonderful!
I also love the Colonel.
And Aline is one of the most beautiful girls, I´ve ever seen - unfortunaately with one exception: blue of the skirt is not exactly matching the top, which is an awful pity. :-[
The Czarina is a great idea.
By the way, I think I´ve found the recipe for the modelling paste, you use, to make the customized details. It´s called "Cold Porcelain".
Look here:

Can it be this?

They are all so creative    I really like Alina and the colonel
-
Thanks all of you! It looks like the Colonel has a lot of fans!
@Daniela: it is VERY probable that you are right.   I know the guy who makes it uses cornstarch, it smells like glue and looks like the one in teh last picture! But cold porcelain is very popular here.... why didn0t he tell me? >:( >:( >:(
anyway... he did mention once that he uses formol to make the paste last longer, so I guess there must be more than one recipe. tomorrow I'll go to an art supplier and buy some comercial cold porcelain to compare! Thanks for the info these are exciting news!
btw, yep the skirt does not match the top but Im not great at that part...nevertheless lve the combination!
Thank you all for the comments!

She's so pretty it doesn't really matter! I just love that choice of hair, with the bow it, together with the rosy cheeks, she just looks so sweet. I keep going back and just staring at her!
That would be awesome to find out if that's the stuff.
-
Your ladies and gentlemen are wonderful Gaston, I do not have a favorite, they each have such great personalities with the accessories you have given them. Looking forward to seeing more.

@Daniela: haven't you tried Milliput? It's easy to buy on eBay.co.uk, it's for porcelain repair too and not expensive at all! It becomes rock hard when set and is easy to polish, though sculpting is a bit tough.
Cheers,
Arnaud

Dear Anaud,
thanks, but I am already working with Milliput.
It was only because Tonguello want to get the recipe for HIS modelling paste and we know very little about it.
Nevertheless...
Thank you!
Daniela

They're al great. Though the Czarina is my favourite one as well and I agree the colonel reminds me of the hunter in Jumanji as well.
-
thank you thank you thank you everyone!!
-
tonguello, they are your perfect version of an original PM 'mixed bag'!
color combinations and artwork is perfect, not being familiar with their original parts, I can't tell where you painted and where you did not :P
btw tonguello, where did Maria's blue skirt come from?

Thanks a lot cheng!!!!
The skirt is from a barefoot princess that comes with a crown and hair brush. I don't know the set number sorry, but it is not a SPecial.
BTW miss Alina's torso is from the same princess.
EDIT---- I found it Cheng. http://playmodb.org/setpics/3105.jpg

Great Customs Gaston and it was great to see my wifes creation in there. I will show her later this week when I see her again :-)
I really like the Czarina, great to see what you did with the hat without a chin strap :-)
looking forward to "the 7th custom"
-
Thank you Gis! ;)
The seventh is taking me longer than I expected. The paint job is getting there.
I know some of my male clickies will be delighted to see this one.
-
Sounds like an interesting one. ;D

Good to know, I like having oyu on our team!

Oh she is exquisite gaston!!! Very nice detail on the dress!!! Very good work with the cutlash holder and the arrow holder!!! How did you paint the dress? the flame I mean..
-
She's awesome, Gaston!!! I was going to say the same things Panos said, so ditto!
-
She looks daunting. Very nice detail work on her skirt. BTW, the Ring cycle is at the San Francisco opera this summer, although set in the 1920s.
kaeth
-
 She's GORGEOUS!
Love the modified quiver for the bow... Awesome work.
(I bet your vikings were happy! ;) )
-
Thank you guys! Yes my Vikings are very happy!!
The flame on the skirt is a water-sticker I took from a old model-kit that I had. The black is also a self adhesive paper. That was a last minute touch as the flames were too small. I think it looks ok. ;D
Thank you for the comments.
Kaethe...maybe I should set up an Opera in my Victorian diorama, thanxs for the idea!
-
She is very beautiful... I can see why your vikings are so happy (I don't know why you wouldn't be :eh?: ) Great detail work!
Perhaps my only suggestion (and I hope you don't mind) would be to make the arms red next time too, just to have her outfit "balanced"-- but I do love her just the way she is.

mmm Jenna I could try that. I see there is something off about her but I just can't get my eye on it. Maybe the blue is it.
Thanks!

i love the victorian young lady with the yellow ribon
-
This gal is stunning...way to go!
Pgal

Very cool Valkyrie Gaston! If I was a Viking warrior, I'd let her fly me to Valhalla. :viking: :viking: :viking:
-

Wonderful!
I also love the Colonel.

Daniela
I can confirm today that Daniela is right. I went this morning to the hobby shop and talked to this man. The known name of this home made paste is Cold Porcelain. Why didn't he tell me before? According to him the subject never came up ::) ::)
Anyway he tells me it really makes it himself and he adds cloroform to the formula so it last longer and is more elastic. I bought some comercial cold porcelain and it is indeed not so flexible as the one he makes :)
-
Cloroform? As in the stuff you use to knock someone unconscious? I don't think I wanna google search that!
-
YEAH!
I am so GOOD!

Thanks for letting us know, Gaston!
Daniela
-
yeap, cloroform! ;D
a small amount I suppose..
-
Who says you can't knock someone down with playmobil?
-
Just try not to take a big huge whiff while you're mixing it! :P
-
i like your walkyrie ! very good choice for all but i would change the arm for naked arms (just my point of vue) , body , dress , helmet perfect perfect perfect !!
-
Thanxs a lot Jeremy! ;D I should try the naked arm, thanks for the advice-.
-
Hmm I seem to have missed this thread earlier, all wonderful customs Gaston, you are doing beautiful work
