Welcome to the forum. Historical knights is a great idea!

Hello from the middle of nowhere, the most land-locked place in the USA — Nebraska. Playmobil was never easy to get here, especially pre-internet. My daughter and I spent many happy hours with Playmobil, mainly the Victorian house and knights. I've continued collecting and creating some basic custom figures. I won't say I'm obsessed, but would consider moving to Germany for access to their parts system. I'm looking forward to being a part of this community and learning from others. Especially interested in how people find hard-to-get parts and techniques to remove tampo printing/paint from vehicles without destroying them.

I would love for Playmobil to create a series of historical knights (similar to their artists and musicians). It would be fantastic for them to do a set based on The Neverending Story. I just started collecting some of the Mission Geo space series.

Chris

I'm just guessing, but they look like they are spaces for two strongboxes e.g. https://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-07-5300 (many versions from the same mould exist- search 'strongbox' on PlaymoDB), though these are not included with the set.
No strongbox, too big

How-To / Re: creating a faux back for Playmobil buildings

Glad to hear that you've had success with foam board (one of my favorite art supplies!) - while it's great to make creations that are 100% Playmobil, it's often useful to incorporate other elements.  I hope you'll share photos here . . . .

Back in the day when my kids were young and we didn't have a lot of Playmobil yet, we had a lot of fun making a castle out of cardboard and a ship out of a shiny red gift box with handkerchief sails and cooking twine for rigging, both of which were then populated with Playmo figures and gear.   ;)

Hello breadmobil!

There is a wonderful website:  Macgayver Playmobil which was created by a true master of Playmobil construction.  Very sadly Michael, known as Macgayver, died several years ago but his work remains amazing and inspiring.  I don't know if you will find an answer to your question there, but his website is well worth a visit.   :)

Thank you, that's sad to hear he passed away. Definitely some really interesting stuff on there, I'll have a proper look later! I did experiment with foam board in the end and I think the buildings have turned out quite well :)
