I'll take it that means the modern house (released 2000) has just gone thru a re-design; I know it's wild guesses but is there a typical/predictable re-design cycle period with Playmobil?   (this is speaking from mainly a knights/medieval collector, so I'm trying to guesstimate how long the current theme will be around till the next re-design  )

Thanks for the info, Andi.  There's some interesting stuff there, although only some of the house items might interest me.

But where are the new fire engines?  I was sure that the new firefighter Special would mean new fire engines this year (2009 for the UK).  Now it looks as if it will be 2009 for Germany and 2010 for the UK, unless there are other release still to come.  (That new Unimog construction vehicle would be an ideal basis for a fire engine.)

oooh, these sound exciting...i am intrigued by that police water plane!

Gordon, i too was sure they would release new fire sets this year, and a station with the rolling door from the carry along work yard.....but i guess we'll need to wait another year.

but at least we can be certain that geobra are definately listening to collectors wishes as we now have egyptians aswell as romans

hi and thanks for the news andi.
i decided to take a look at the klickywelt.de site and i think there are 2 extra novelties anounced that you missed:
- 4635 Footballspieler
- 4642 Kapitän
for the first time i am not totally unhappy for the lack of new pirates (maybe the "kapitän" can actually be a pirate, i don´t know).
this way i can have some breeding space to buy the latest american and european sets i am still missing.
the new egyptian sets should be very cool. i bet the roman fans should be very happy.
one of the guys in the german forum also talks about the possibility of the surprise set - http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=1805.30 - being napoleon in egypt.
this could bring the pirates/soldiers theme and the egyptian theme together.
let´s wait for some pictures to confirm 2008 as a great playmo year.
