Thank you Gaston, Bill, Bonnie, Warrior, Gordon, Luis, Jan and Atto for your support and kind words! I am happy you all enjoyed this first part.  :)  Hopefully, it wont be too long until the next one.  :uhoh:

Atto: right on 90% of your finds  ;D Well done!! I'm fun of Star Trek, big time!! So yes, this is a mix of fictitious and real life vessel names. Also did my national service in the Navy so I have a love for the sea and ships. Also correct on the names appart from Paran, which I am not sure if its Vulcan but I got it from the Malazan Book of the Fallen fantasy series. Hawkins just poped in my head as I was writting the story, but maybe, since I am mixing so many different fictitious alternate realities together, I did have the Professor in mind, subconsciously  :lol: So, good point!!!

As for the customs sailors and first mate:
legs from: 4654 - Pirate
torsos from: 3791 - Pirate And Water Barrel for the sailors and 30 00 6992 - Pirate, black hair and beard, blue uniform coat or 4548 - Captain Peg Leg for the first mates
hats: 30 06 6000 - Hat, low, round wide brim
and colars from any old US cavalry set

Which kind of paint did you use for the "Enterprise" and how did you apply it? And is it high-gloss or semi-gloss?

I'm surprised no one asked about the water yet.  (Unless it's been covered in another post that I have no idea of ...)

What did you use for it?

Looking at it I had an idea of what would work - clear textured ceiling tile (that goes over flourescent light fixtures) that is textured placed over something blue.  It would allow depth and colour.

You'd never guess what the water is... its soooo simple  ;D I'll start another thread in the ''how-to board'' including details for the sails.

Yes, cool!  I've seen some awesome but complicated solutions for water, but as you say what you used is very simple... ???
And please don't forget to explain how you painted the "Enterprise"!  I :love: that blue colour!


ps: one small remark; I think you should reverse the flags on the masttops; the wind blows them in a forwards direction, possibly slightly sidewards...
