Thank you everyone for your lovely comments

I really enjoyed doing the painting, I'm longing to try painting some more skirts using some of the other colours - I have a lovely bright green and a bright pink that I want to use, but I'm not supposed to use my hand yet so can't do any painting at the moment.

Jeremy, Lord Hamish's kilt was indeed made using a lady's skirt - here's the explaination I used in an earlier thread:
"...I made the skirt by cutting down a lady's long skirt and cutting down a plain pair of a man's legs and sanding them at the top so they would just fit inside the skirt space.
I then used a plastic repair material called Plastex to fill the gap and hold the legs in place..."
Hope this helps!
Elaine
