Victorian Monocle?
« on: November 10, 2010, 19:57:30 »
I once saw a really cool looking monocle  :D
made from Playmo Earings that I think turned out quite well.

I was hoping to do the same thing,
Can the person who made the monocle show it here and tell us how it was made? :)

hey! I just cut a pirate's earring and glued it to the side of the face. I can show you with photos later... but is really simple.

You glued it? I thought you had used heat treatment... ???
Still, looks really good. :)

Thanx!
Nop, not heat treatment, I 've never used it. Just a cutter and instant glue. It's late now to take a couple of pics. Tomorrow morning!   ;D

OK I made some time for a few quick pics. Hope it's ok.

This is the earring piece as it is now, after cutting one off.
You have to cut it parallel to the square-ish base of the ring keeping the base and rig together.

Use the base of the ring as the "arm" of the monocle and glue it only to the face so you could change the hair if you want.
I found it fits better in other types of hair, like the classic pointy one. As you can see.
And I jsut thought that you could even heat it a little bit and press it against the face so it takes it's rounded form. Another tip could be that you  can shape the base of the ring to make slimer, so the area woudn't be so heavy looking.

Hope it helps.  If I missed something let me know!
