Good morning dear Friends

I must say that I am truly delighted to have finally reached the stage in which I am introducing the Electricity Fairy to this project as lighting is in my humble view, the real "cherry on the cake" of any miniature project since it purely and simply bring it into life

Until a few years ago, there were 2 kinds of different dollhouse lighting methods :

1 / The copper wiring which involves an intricate network of copper wires joined together using a soldering iron resulting in an almost invisible wiring system leaving no bumps behind surfaces such as wallpapers or presence of wires in the miniature decor. The complexity of this system lead me to choose an easier lighting option which can be done and undone quite easily...

2 / It starts with a 12V power adaptor which can light up to 32 miniature light bulbs ( which is sufficient for a project like mine ) which is connected to a multiple lights socket strip and as many extensions as you which provided that you do not exceed the maximum number of light bulbs allowed, ie 32 for this example.  When in place, the system just as easily as when you use an electrical cable extension in one of the rooms of your own home in real life. One must, of course try and dissimulate the cables and switches either on the ceiling or behind certain elements of the decor. You have seen in the above pictures our little Friend Archibald taking you you from the main eletrical adaptor to the lighting of the lights standing above the kitchen entrance of the Victorian Mansion and Archie will continue to do so with all the other lighting equipment featuring on this project  ;)

12 V AC Power Adaptor ( for up to 32 miniature light bulbs ) @ around 13.00 GB pounds

12 miniature lights sockets strip @ around 10 GB pounds

I said "until a few years ago" since I discovered when working on my mini diorama "Autumn Deliveries in Paris" that the LED battery operated lighting Equipment has come a long way from being bulky with often out of proportion bases to offer delicate and perfectly Playmocompatible options. You may remember that until early January, my entire miniature collection - including the lighting Equipment was still at my home in France - and I nevertheless wanted a street lamp to feature on "Autumn Deliveries in Paris" and my presentation of "Sherlock Holmes & Dr Watson". And the LED battery operated street light worked so well that I chose it again for lighting up the sidewalk along Regent St.

LED Battery operated Street Light @ around 7.99 GB pound each
