Good morning dear Friends

I hope that you are well.
As I was starting to plan the details of my Christmas diorama, something occurred to me that I hadn’t realized yet : the building I was planning to use for Mrs Applepie Christmas Patisserie wasn’t ideal for the scenes since it was lacking the window display of a shop.
And I then remembered unboxing at Easter 2018 the Sylvanian Families New Town Ice Cream Shop which was perfect for the job with two bow windows reminiscent of the Victorian / Dickens era and a welcoming arched entrance to let the inside lights and yummy festive display of delights shine through.
Under the vigilant eye of Mrs Applepie, el Klicko Parisiano, young Peter and Rupert the Cat worked their magic to transform the building the New Regent St way. I love the way highlighting the architectural details with a lighter colour of paint brings the building to life. I was thinking German Konditorei in doing so and the result is quite satisfactory.
In my humble opinion, two things are essential to get a Christmas scene right, the realistic effect of snow and ice and the lighting which must be cosy and warm to contrast with the winter cold.
Now that Mrs Applepie, sorry Mrs Claus / Nicholas / Noel Christmas Patisserie is up and running, I will slowly bring little festive touches starting with the first snow fall of winter to a bright and cheerful celebration of Christmas. Let the fun begin and may you all have a happy festive season !
