Remember that model of the Hunley that Malone made? That was an exceptional piece of work.

That is a very good model! :yup:  That must have taken some nerve
to cast off in a boat like that 8}

I think the spar was fitted once it was in the water, I think the photo of it on the flatbed railcar is excellent.

Hi all.
Here is another "not quite done" pic. of the u-boat, sailing in my gravel front
yard.  Hopfully the commissioning photo will be in some water.... ;)

sanding, painting,sanding,painting...

She's coming along fine, Jim ...

Looks like you've already attached the diving planes. They look great!

Just did my research, "The San Pedro and Santa Cruz rivers begin their lives near the Sonora-Arizona border and flow north into Arizona then into the Gila River to the Colorado River and ultimately to the Gulf of California."

That's going to be one tricky navigation for your U-Boat, Jimbo ... ;)

This is one project that I don't want to miss. BTW, I've started fitting out one of my brand new flying boats 4445 with some depth charges ...  ;D

All kidding aside, Jim ... She's going to be a great boat!

Thanks for sharing and all the best,
Richard

Ahoy again, Playmofriends.
Here is the latest sub crewmember.  I think he is an engineering officer. The collar
and shoulder boards are from the police blister pack.
I made the baggy pants with JB weld, and the hat from what else, Mighty Putty! The gun in the background is the forward deck gun...I might not have to throw
a tarp over it after all, Geppeto. ;). Sub is still in work..tiny details, and more primer.
It weighs about 30 pounds now.

Thanks Knightmo for the technical assist in posting the pics :yup:

Best regards,
Jimbo
