Dark green cloak in 4502/ 6400
« on: July 04, 2026, 09:12:17 »
PlaymoDB shows the Night Watchman in both set 4502 and 6400 as having a 'very dark green' cloak, full-length.
I bought an unopened copy of 4502 recently and this has a grey cloak.

The very dark green cloak does exist, so can anyone answer me the following?

Was a dark green cloak only included in the very early issues of set 4502?*
Was 6400 issued (in June 2014) with a dark green cloak?
Is there some other set with a dark green cloak?

*My MISB set includes a mini catalogue dated 03.94, one month after the release of the first 4502s, so it's later than those; the first 4502s had perforated boxes with three pink corners on the front, mine has the later unperforated box with four pink corners. See here
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

I had the original 4502 with the perforated box and the cloak was grey, I've also had the 6400 Direct Service one and that was grey as well.
"It seemed like a good idea at the time"

I have two of the original night watch from the special, and they both have the same grey cloak. Must be a playmoDB mistake.

Is there some other set with a dark green cloak?

Are you only interested in that style?

There is a darker green cape (with a peg) in Set 5831.
