Clash Of Titans Part 2 'The Weapons Deal'

Hello  All

Following on from where i left off yesterday here is Part 2 of Clash Of Titans. Its only a small side story but i feel its an important addition to the bigger picture. So without further ado here is the 'Weapons Deal'.

In a dark and neglected corner of bandit country lies a small town called Billbrooke. Amongst the dingy dwellings and shops of Billbrooke lies the Weapon Dealers. Popular amongst bandits, robbers and villains this weapon dealer has a huge stock and if something is not available it can be made in the forge. There is also quite a large selection of second hand armour for those short on cash. In need of some new equipment our Villain pays the dealer a visit. The corner of the room is occupied by two very menacing characters and a warning is pinned to the wall "Shoplifters Will Be Fed To The Pigs". It is quite clear that these men are not to be messed around with and our Villain has second thoughts about trying anything, besides these men could come in handy later in the story.

The weapons dealer asks the Villain if he would like to choose some armour. There are many different styles to choose from but the Villain chooses the same as before, a very sturdy breast plate with neck guard. Just as the Villain is trying on the breast plate the dealer appears with some very fine armour designed to fit around the arms. It looks as though these have been modified to allow extra movement in the hands and they are quickly added to the shopping basket. A regular knights helmet with visor is chosen to top it all off.

It has to be said that a Knight is only as good as his weapon and there is a huge selection on offer. The dealer is quick to point out that those on show are only a small selection of what is available. Each weapon is available in many different types of metal and can be designed to a customers specification, then produced in the forge. Judging by the wide variety of stock it appears that the dealer is not only an expert in buying and selling but a master armourer as well. The Silver sword is a very fine weapon with a sharp edge and is quickly snapped up by the Villain. The conversation quickly turns to the topic of back up weapons and the dealer points out that the Axe is a very fine choice. Our Villain is not convinced and judging by his last experience quiet rightly so. After a bit of thought the Villain decides that he will try his luck with the ball and chain.

The final thing that we need is a shield and the Villain is shown two of the basic designs. Due to the many different types and styles it is suggested that the Villain may like to take a catalogue home to look at, it is impossible to display all the shields in the shop. All he has to do is choose the style, draw a his motif on a piece of paper and it will be made to order in the forge (paid for in advance ).

It is time to count the money and the dealer is quick to empty the contents of the Villains small yellow bag onto the counter. Gold coins roll out onto the table, enough to cover the goods purchased. He is not the only one who is happy, our Villain is quietly muttering something about treasure and revenge.

Again, Tim, great story and a worthy second part (even if it is an aside).  The armourer's shop is wonderfully detailed and the photos superb.  I especially like the way the dealer is pouring out the money.
