Henry: "They are here! raise your shields!"

With raised shields, the knights manage to block the crossbow bolts shot their way while they ride forward to the Lion's army.

But they are well prepared, a line of halberds stands ready to stop the advancing knights!

While they stop to fend off these Halberds, the Lion Knights prepare to charge from the side!

They fight bravely and manage to stand their ground against the Halberdiers, but soldiers are climbing up the cliffs to attack them from the other side as well!

But the captain knows what he is doing, and has moved around the trees with the spearmen to attack the Lion Knights from the back!

Taking note of this, they quickly stop their charge and turn, so that they won't be caught in between the spearmen and the knights.

Herbert: "Charge! We will catch them completely unprepared!"

Knight: "We better wait Sir Herbert. I don't think they have used all their forces yet. We need to stand ready for the unexpected."

And the knight was right. From out of nowhere, the three cousins Heinrich Drachenfell, Siegfried Rodich and Wolfgang of Ravenstein attack with their soldiers, charging right at the spearmen's backs!

Heinrich Drachenfell: "Charge! this little army is all that keeps us from plundering that castle!"

Quickly Herbert's soldiers rush forward to help protect the spearmen, but will they be in time?

The battle has only just begun, and it is far from over.. will they be able to defeat the Lion army?

((Will be continued soon.))

Great to see more of the story I'm really enjyoing this particularly these great battle scenes I was going to say I hope that King Phillip's army is enough to defeat Prince Edward's Lions since he's built up a very impressive army at least Henry and his friends have gained a few more allies it's a pity the Lions don't know the full truth about their Prince, it's interesting as well to hear a little mroe about King Richard here's hoping he's still alive he sounds like a much better King.

Great battle scenes you've really manged to get some good views of the action, hope the soldiers mange to protect the spearmen as well  :knight:

((thanks everyone, the battle would not have worked on the grass underground due to instability so I opted for using another room instead to prevent frustration.  :) ))

Getting attacked by two sides, the Spearmen fight hard to take a stand, getting attacked by knights on both sides.

They manage to push a knight off his horse but there are just too many of them.

Not planning to wait untill getting surrounded, Sir Gareth Boulaise boldly charges forward with his lance and knocks out the royal guard!

Soldiers are starting to surround Roderick from all sides, but Sir Christopher is quick to come to his aid and help fend them off.

Still, one of the soldiers manages to jump on Roderick, trying to get him off his horse!

While Henry tries to get the soldier off, Sir Gareth attacks the soldiers from the side with his sword. Frederick takes advantage of this distraction and gets off his horse to fight the halberdiers on foot.

While Roderick falls off his horse, he manages to turn things around and land on top of the soldier that pulled him off!

In the middle of the fighting, Sir Roland is challenged by Sir Jonathan, both charging forward with their lance.

Proving to be faster, he manages to dismount the Lion knight from his horse, providing an opening for Frederick to advance!

Roderick, Henry, Gareth and Christopher manage to push forward, slowly driving the Lion soldiers back!

Frederick leads a small group of swordsmen in an attack on the Lion soldiers, determined to push through and reach the spearmen.

It seems Sir Jonathan is not yet ready to give up, but Sir Roland is ready to continue the fight.

The situation for the spearmen is growing quite desperate however, attacked from both sides they don't stand a chance!

Herbert's veterans fight hard to get to them, but there are so many enemies to fight!

Only their knight managed to push through, and is fighting Wolfgang.

Nobody kept an eye on the crossbowmen however, and they manage to shoot Sir Gareth off his horse!

Quickly, the soldiers try to defeat Sir Gareth as he is on the ground.

Roderick climbs up the rocks, to get to the crossbowmen.

Seeing Roderick come towards them, one tries to shoot him but misses, and the other is still reloading his crossbow.

He manages to defeat a crossbowman, and the other one runs away.

Frederick is doing his best to defeat the Lion soldiers as well, but they just keep coming, keeping him away from the spearmen.

Roland has managed to fight one of the knights surrounding the spearmen, so thats one less worry for the outnumbered soldiers.

However, Herbert's troops have reached the spearmen, and together they formed a defensive circle to keep all attackers at bay.

They can't get through this defence, the battle seems almost over now!

After a long duel on horseback, Wolfgang does prove too strong for Herbert's knight and knocks him off his horse.

"Just a lucky hit" He thought, as he pushed himself back up to his feet.

But as he looks up, he sees a new arrival on the battlefield...

((Will be continued soon.  :knight: ))

You are really taking us in the heart of the action just like in a movie

The guard who fled the scene was not courageous at all  :hmm:

The new arrival appears to be no other than the Dread Baron!

Dread Baron: "You three, find and kill the leaders of this army. I will handle the rest."
Siegfried: "... All of them? No one can fight an army on their own!"
Dread Baron: "I can, now do as I say before I decide to start with you three!"
Herbert's knight: "I will stop you, you won't get past me!"

Sadly, this was not true. While the three dark knights rush towards their new targets, the Dread Baron jumps off his horse and takes the brave knight out with a single strike.

Dread Baron: "Don't make me laugh, no one can stop me!"

A little further away from them, Frederick is fighting hard and seems to be doing well.

Though brave as he is, the sight of three armed knights rushing towards him at full speed force him to run away and find higher ground!

In the meanwhile, Herbert's veterans are bravely charging the Dread Baron.

Veteran: "An attack on one of us, is an attack on all of us!"
Dread Baron: "That is the intention yes, I will crush all of you!"

Henry, still unaware of the new arrival, is putting up a good fight together with Gareth and Christopher.
