Question about 4691 arabian knights - neck armour
« on: February 11, 2012, 23:36:24 »
Th enew arabian soldier has this really cool neck armour, chainmall i believe.

Now, i am thinking very very seriously to use this for all the 7664 black lion guards a have a total of about a 1000 now... one of them has a metal colour armour necklase ( as for some stupid reason they put that metal color to the new english soldiers )

Now i wanted to ask the experts, if the have a part number for that chainmal armour , and how easy is to put in in all the 7664 klickies inc the one with the neck armour on already. i wonder how easy will it be to do this like 1000 times ....  ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Very easy to dismantle a klicky, once you get the hang of it, you can do it anytime, anyplace, anywhere
Martin has a good video of the han's on method http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kiczou4_ts
But i find the pincers (gentle squeeze but hard pulling of the head) to work better for me, my arm hurts from all the hitting after a while... well, same goes with the pulling

As for the chainmail, I am not aware of a part number, playmodb has none listed, unless my search was not adequate, but maybe someone else knows that part number  ??? ordering a 1000 from ebay can be utterly expensive

George, I know someone. I'll have to contact him first, but for a massive order, he might be interested. I'll let you know…

Can that someone provide other kinds of "fixed" neckpieces?

Well, it's free to ask! I met him twice at playmo conventions and bought quite a few parts from him. Just hope he remembers me, he never seemed too keen on showing exactly what he's got, you need to "handle" him smoothly…show him your interest (and wealth), make him sure you're worth the effort! I'll email him tonight.

Interesting to know the prince of Monaco is a playmobil-parts dealer!  ;D

The "Hmm...  584 neckpieces, that's all, nothing more?? Pfff, please move along"-club. Right.
I'd like to see these guys' armies. I'll probably need binoculars to see the last row of a particular regiment.

Resistance is futile, you will be boarded!

The collar on the knight is NOT the same as the collar on the redcoat soldiers, George. The redcoat's is quite a bit smaller, but it is indeed the same colour.

I use the "chainmail" neckpiece on most of my knights and men-at-arms too, it looks great. :)
The most valiant knights are made of German plastic!!!

I've yet to successfully dismantle my figures yet, but I agree that these chainmail "coif-bottoms" as I call them are cool!

But I don't think that you need the Arabian knight for them, Giorginetto. I reckon they are the same as those on other knights, but I think the Arabian knight is the only to have the legs that he does in white. Is that right? I'd like some of those for my Teutonic knights if I ever manage to customise them!

On the chainmail note, I actually have a golden unicorn knight whose golden chainmail bottom was put on backwards.
