Now Gus can tell me that that wasn't what I wrote! My Latin studies stopped around age 16, and I got these words using an online translator, so the grammer is non-existant! There also appear to be several Latin words for the same thing (e.g. Sandals), so I just picked the ones I thought sounded best.

ok, lets go:

sandals (of a soldier) = caliga, -ae, plural caligae, -árum
foot = pes, pedis, plural pedes, pedum

However, most of the fun in the story is in the wrong Latin
(which is one of the reasons I'm going to avoid going into the verbal tenses, right now ...
