Unidentified transformer
« on: August 08, 2011, 15:11:06 »
Can anyone identify this train transformer?

It has no markings on it at all, and the brown plate on the back looks like an add-on

I haven't tried it as I don't like the look of it!

Damo :)

Have you looked inside for markings, Damo?

Well, after that little excercise, I can say I'm glad that I didn't plug it in!

Whatever was in there had melted through the outer protective case, which is what is under that large plate screwed on the back.

As for names, all the components in there are made by individual manufacturers, the only one I recognise being RS.

This might be a job for Walter! ;D

I did never see such a transformer.
Could be self-made.

You have seen inside some melted pieces?  :hmm: 8} :o
Maybe it could be very dangerous testing it!!!
(I think: DON'T USE IT, buy another Playmobil transformer!)

The ports on the back look like the plugs for speakers from the back of a stereo system!

I think I'll just harvest the components from it :)

I've got a couple of Playmobil transformers coming this week
