Ras, would you email me the 7400 plans, please?  Thanks in advance if you have them.

I do not have them  :-[ sorry. I use the pictures on Heathers DB. All the parts we have from this set are from random lots from auctions. The one hard to find part is the filler for the 1/2 tall 4 way connector 30 03 9780. By filler I mean the part that is not a structural part but fills in the one side that faces the train tracks. The other side I can uses a 45º brace  30 03 9750
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Thanks for the extra info, it'll be a great help.

Great set of photos, and interesting building.

i doubt that filler piece is available from DS. The brace type should be though - it's what was in the more recent safari sets.
30 03 9750 - Brace, wooden
It doesn't look too bad just left open if you are consistent with it throughout the building IMO.

I was going to, if i absolutely had to, cut and sand the 45º part off and just leave the filler

The brace is used in a lot of new pony sets as well.

Thanks for the photo compliment and yes it is an interesting building with a precariously long front span. I thought it would need supports but when the stecks is all tightly assembled it holds up nicely. It also gives plenty of room to see what will be happening inside

Tim, would you have the plans for the latest safari sets, please?

I should have at least one at home. I will PM you this evening.

How permanent is this use going to be? If you don't intend changing it for a long time, or could reuse the flat sides elsewhere later, it might make more economic sense to just fill in the gaps with putty and paint it brown. I used wall spackle to fill in the holes on my Snow Queen palace parts. Fill, sand, couple layers of paint and you are good.

When I have the time, I always enjoy hopping a freight to see the beautiful USA, particularly if I have an important order to deliver.  We made pretty good time to arrive yesterday in California's wine country.  After supervising the unloading and observing the installation of the various building elements, I looked for my host (the elusive and mysterious mad monk) but his friends explained that he had been called away - rumor has it that he has gone into the hills to investigate the recent epidemic of drunkenness among the local wolf population - are they being drugged intentionally or have they just found a way to break into the vats at the brewery again?  Even in his absence, the monk had ensured that I would be well entertained.  The folks out here are mighty hospitable and I was treated to the local brew and also enjoyed the local music scene.  Picked up some fresh eggs and a variety of smoked meats at a nearby farm.  I am hoping that the monk will return before my departure so that we can raise a glass together, but, even if that doesn't work out, I expect I'll be back this way again soon.   :**:

Ras:
Wow! So sorry I missed this party out West! Sounds like a hoot!

Love your train layout. Please DON"T show it to hubby as he has enough N Scale to kill a herd of cattle.

The buildings are fabulous; it brings back many memories of growing up in Pecos, Texas, but your set is much prettier than the real thing in the middle of the desert!

Love your posts, Pgal
