HI
This conversation is making me want to take out a special clause in my insurance to cover my Playmobil in the event of fire.
I wonder how that would work ?
Has anybody ever taken a policy to cover collectibles ?
How do you value it ?

You need to call your house insurance agent ASAP, Ras! Your collection is on the extreme side! You will need to estimate REPLACEMENT VALUE for worth, because plastic melts at low temps, so fire will be its most dangerous foe! You may need to have a policy for a collection for a special coverage! If you don't do this, if a fire God forbid would destroy your storage barn, they may just pay for the
barn replacement, but not your extreme contents, especially since the collection is in a
barn dettached from the house directly! CALL YOUR INSURANCE AGENT NOW! Is the barn on a different part of insurance for your business, etc?
