Back to this interesting topic as i have both the old and newer version , old from a MIB set i got which was in exceptiponal condition and not exposed to the elements much i believe , i can confirm that there is a difference in the basic color between the two. The other noticable difference of course is the white/brown window/door frames respectively.

I prefer the old color as it is more realistic if you ask me .  ;D

I quite like both. Seeing how most steck houses are white with a red roof, any change from that is very welcome, as long as its in realistic colors.  The white with a red roof is a bit overdone.

That's why I don't really like that all castles have red roofs.
