Title: Junker Jörgs Lokschuppen
Post by: Junker Jörg on October 08, 2016, 15:36:37
Welcome at my engine shed ("Lokschuppen"), my place to provide you with engine pics and films.

For a start three short films from a display day of our Gartenbahn-Club. The first two showing my trains on a stationary lay out, the third one a ride on our special layout built for that weekend.

Those are great trains, and that is also a fantastic layout (with a correct windmill).
The self-made Playmobil lugagge-passenger makes me curious, can you post pictures from that car?

Hoppla, lang nix mehr hier eingestellt - oops, nearly forgotten...  :-[

Two engines of mine were allowed a day off to run on a friend's garden layout. Here some impressions of my tender engine.

Those coaches are quite old customs - made in times I haven't been able to apply a proper coat of paint so I can't offer you a closer look at them  ::).

Ah, that sounds like the Eight Foot Rule - maybe on the Continent the Two Metre Rule.  If it looks OK eight feet/two metres away, then its safe to run in public.

Unser Stammtisch hatte mehrere hundert Meter Gleis ausgelegt. Hier ein paar Photos.

I had another day off - a big model railway convention supplied by some hundred yards of tracks by our Gartenbahnstammtisch. Some pics first.

Yes it definitely was a great layout both in optics and size  8} and we did have quite some fun in running or trains on it.

Yes it was a big model railway show displaying eight or more layouts. Ours was mainly built on the floor save the upper tracks the film train's running on. It was built on pallets as you can see on the pic.

All I can see in that latest post is a banner stating "No hotlinking", JJ. I thought this was some technical railway term, but Playmofire is correct, it's another photo hosting site block. Also, the pictures in your first post in this topic are showing fine, but not the ones in the second nor fourth posts, unless that is just a glitch with Safari.

Oops, my bad. Firefox shows all the pictures (except the 'No Hotlinking' one), as Playmofire says in the post below.

For me, the third link in Stefan's first post isn't showing but all the other posts are fine.  However, when I tried to look at them yesterday, the photos and videos were not showing in the first post, but when I went back they were there, other than the last link.

Sorry for any inconvenience  :-\. I linked this pic from another forum's galery and it works quite fine. I can see it. But as you can't I assume pics linked from that special galerie are only visible to members of the forum it belongs to. Now you should see the pic.

Yes, very nice. With large scale like this the floor makes sense, but I really like the detail of building interiors and people can see that all better on tables. Tables large enough are a real problem with set up and time though.

Tables large enough are a real problem with set up and time though.

Not to mention bump-prone...

On my very tiny dio I couldn't figure out a way to put the steck walls/water/bridge.....  ended up on the floor.

For four years I've been scratchbuilding a "Glaskastenlok", a steam engine Pt 2/2. Delays due to some eletronic troubles made me shelve that project several times. It all started with a RC Glaskasten which to reconstruct would have meant more work than a complete new start. So...

Automatic couplers - made by Massoth - were to be implanted on both sides. Unfortunately an electronic problem made me abandon one of those couplers so only one side can uncouply automatically.

To make the steam engine steam properly a  fan driven smoke unit is installed. Also made by Massoth.

*hüstel* to be honest: what took me sooooo long wasn't a matter of brillant quality but simply of a loss of interest for quite some time as those automated couplers didn't work the way I wanted them to  :-[

Oh mein Gott  :o

Dear Friend

I could I possibly miss such an amazing thread on both PF and KW ?

Your outdoor layout is just amazing with so many fascinating features such as the "viaduct" style bridge, then the bridge running over the water feature, and so much more. I started my passion for the miniature world with developing a model railway on a HO scale between the age of 07 years old and 13 years old, building towns, tunnels and mini mountains and this is early passion that has now evolved to creating dioramas. But I could still spend hours sitting down in your magical garden watching your beautiful trains steam away through the scenery

Thank you so much for sharing the detailed making of your custom  :thanks:

Simply magical  :cloud9:

Your outdoor layout...
Da hast Du in der Tat was verpaßt  8-).

Well, yes, you definitely DID miss something  8}. Though it's unfortunately not my layout that's presented in pics and clips. They're taken on different layouts owend by enthusiasts round my place as I'm restricted to my attic layout at the moment.

@playmofire It DID make my day! Especially when she asked for a visit to the attic next day (to care for her unicorns up there - but I could run my trains  8}).

Garden trains and extra stuff (like houses...) are made for gardens and therefore weatherproof. Even trains could be left out there though you ought to take care of your electronics. Bringing power to damp decoders might cause a short. Most garden railwayists nonetheless do take all rolling stock inside over night - it might get lost during hours of darkness...  :o
