Guess the demand is super high :P
-
I'd like 2 or maybe 4. Not that into having an army of them, I'd just like them as guards stationed at a gate or entrance somewhere.
-
Whatever I get in my case should be enough... unless I only got one... then he would be lonely :)
-
I'm gonna have 4 because I intend to buy a whole box of 48 bags this time (and same for the Girls figures#3!).
I already have one form the older Special, I think the belts are different on the new one, aren't they?
A.

I want hundreds of these guys!!! I dont care how many bags I'll need to touch to find them, I dont care if I'll be the weirdo in every toy store touching the bags but I want as many of them as possible.... my soldiers..   ;D

Yep, 2 for me.. Have several of the special..
-
I'd like to have 10 of this one. :)...or 12... or 8}
-
I would like to get about 10. :)
-
Again, I'd just get 4 in a case. I did get the Special, and 5 will be enough for me ;).
Ace :brownhair:

as strange as that will be heard, I have only one special... and four from the other set.
-
But you must admit that the Special was a bit nicer with the belt and all that ...

I have the ones from the other set too, but they're different... I think. It's in the beginning of the PROCESS, me thinks.

yes, the specials have black epaulettes, and shoe-like feet, whereas the ones from the victorian guard set have blue epaulettes and old klicky-type feet. Also, the torso pattern is different.
-
I'm buying a case so hopefully there will be four of them then I may get more later because this should be easy to feel for parts.
-
is that not a different belt?
-
I'm aiming for 20 but expect that it will not be easy. I won't be satisfied unless I get at least 10.
-
I know this has been tossed around before... but there HAVE to be enough of us planning on getting cases that the "extras" could be distributed to get people what they want/need... of course that 100 isn't going to work
-
i'm not that thrilled about him - i have 4 from the original victorian sets and the special ;D
-
As many as possible and then I will want more 8}
-
i try to get as many as possible.. iam lovin it! :

I think perhaps just 1, or if more then probably about 6 (5 soldiers and an officer).
Just because they look nice and also because the belgian Royal Guard wears such bearskin-hats, like in Great Britain.
Such hats were worn in the 19th century and later, so they fall outside the era I collect soldiers for (ca. AD 1492 - 1815).
-
The French were wearing bearskins during the Napoleonic wars (the Old Guard I think). Even if they don't work with pirates, I'll be getting as many as I can.

Yeah, I've seen people using them in diorama's but I wasn't sure weither or not it is historically correct. I should look it up, the Napoleonic Era is not my field of expertise...
-
Where is the 100+ option :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

If my recollections are correct (and as I get older they are less trustworthy) the English started wearing the bearskins because they managed to repulse the Old Guard at Waterloo. I think this was the first time an opposing force had accomplished this so the English coopted the hats to commemorate the occasion.
Sorry for going a little off topic.

A great website for uniforms from the Napoleonic age,
Here is a picture of a French Grenadier from 1813.

It would appear that the french did use bearskin hats.
