"deer hunting in winter" :P
(BB or any MOD, if this is too violent please remove or delete this thread)
-
Oh, another way to use one of those torsos! :D
(we're not anti-violence here, we just don't allow really explicitly gory stuff. Or stuff from a certain period in germany's history. ;))
-
Excellent!
-
....we just don't allow .....Or stuff from a certain period in germany's history. ;))[/size]
noted and thanks BB!
...still if any member (or deer) feels upset, please let me know and I shall correct this :)
-
Nice!!
-
Excellent scene! Very realistic! :wow:
-
I don't think they look like they're hunting deer... To me they look like soldiers...
-
To me they look like soldiers...
I think so too; they remind me somewhat of WW II German paratroopers in snow-uniforms...
Especially the hat 3 of them are wearing, that one comes real close to the original, except for the colour. What set(s) is it from?
-
It is an ambulance driver hat... scene reminds me of Where Eagles Dare... good movie :)

Yes... exactly!
-
Great pictures again cheng! They somehow do look a little like soldiers.
-
I never saw soldiers on cross-country skis.... but I could be wrong.
-
Great customs, cheng! They definitely look suited for the chilly weather. :)
-
thanks for your interest everyone
youre all quite right about them looking like soldiers but in PF, they are jaegers (hunters)
...BB, I dont know anything about skis nor have I touched one before (other than water skis), I suppose cross-country skis are just longer & broader than their more manouverable cousins? ...maybe I'll buy 2 PM tennis rackets next year and fit them to his other 3 friends ;) :P ;D
-
but in PF, they are jaegers (hunters)
German paratroopers in WW II were called Fallschirmjaegers ;)
-
I don't know anything about skis, either.... I'm from flat lands where it never snows. ;) But since he isn't going downhill, I figured he was cross-country skiing rather than downhill skiing.

 means parachute-hunters according to my translation
and BB.....lucky you....at least you have touch snow before ;)

yes.... to me too nothing wrong with it :hmm: :hmm: i can't see a deer also ???
(we're not anti-violence here, we just don't allow stuff from a certain period in germany's history. ;))
:hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: why not? history is history ,after all it's taught in school..

Not our decision. It's a specific requirement from playmo officials that pics showing playmobil associated with nazi themes cannot be allowed. They would shut us down if we allowed such pictures.
and BB.....lucky you....at least you have touch snow before ;)
Yeah... four or five times.

SERIOUSLY?! I'm going to dig up some rabbits (but mine are grey not white)...what other PM animals (besides deer because I dont have any) do people hunt in the snow? I have a white owl :P no seals...no white bears (has PM ever made any brown bears before?) ...I've plenty of ducks but even for a Tropical guy, I know they fly south in winter ;D
(I'm taking this corrective action very seriously BB...we must safe guard our name here...LONG LIVE PFs!!)
-
 I don't know... bears would be hibernating if it's snowing. Rabbits and deer are your best bets!
And to be fair, they would send a letter asking the images be removed first. It would be if Sylvia refused to comply with the request we'd be in danger of being shut down. ;)

ok BB.....a hunting I will go (for white rabbits...I think might have them in one of my boxes ;D)
no white mountain goats I'm sure :P
meanwhile I stand ever ready to have this thread removed 8-)

I find that completely ridiculous. But oh well.

Are those "certain German history"-rules applicable for every photo depicting a German soldier from that period? I ask because not every German was a Nazi back then.
Also, there is IMHO a huge difference between pics from:
A) f.e. a certain "Adolf H.", or a certain "Heinrich H.", or a "Waffen-SS Soldat" (a soldier who is obviously a Nazi, because belonging to the SS).
I can perfectly understand/agree that such guys cannot be shown.
B) f.e. a "U-Boot Mannschaft" (German submarine crew), or a "Wehrmacht Soldat" (regular German army soldier) or a "Luftwaffe Pilot" (German Airforce pilot), who are not necessarily Nazis (which was a political ideology) but who could just be fellows having to join the armed forces because of war.
If guys from B) may not be shown either, can you in that case show British troops or US GI's shooting at German soldiers or not? And if you could, could you then depict German troops shooting at Americans or British?
If you want to make a Playmobil-custom of a WW II military airplane and show a picture of it, should it then be an Amercan or a British aircraft, or can it also be a German or a Japanese aircraft? If it can, is it allowed to show a German or Japanese pilot?

It's a question of German law, not Playmobil's whim. There are strict laws in Germany covering publication relating to the Nazi era. Playmobil are maybe playing over-safe, but maybe better safe than sorry.
-
Yes, that's an interesting point, gordon! In any case, we have to play it safe so geobra's lawyers dont get on us. Cheng, if you want I can split this discussion off from your thread.

It would depend on the customs, what was depicted, how it was presented. Really, geobra frowns on modern war customs altogether -- they seem to draw the line at about the time of World War I. However, there are a few customs here of WWI vehicles and even soldiers, just as customs, not engaged in battle scenes, that we have left since they are in a gray area. If Sylvia were to recieve a notice, we would remove them, but for now they're ok as long as they're not gory. I believe GW recieved a letter once about some WWI-era things that were posted on the site, asking that they be removed.
But it is a strict requirement that we not allow depictions of nazis, so we have several times removed excellent custom Hitlers.

that's on the worst case i guess,if someone makes a hitler custom i don't think it's innapropriate :hmm: :hmm: ,everyone knows about the nazis ,it's not something to hide ,and pf is not a german site so i don't find a reason for a problem..... everyone is free to express himself the way he wants and show whatever he wants as long he doesn't harm others ,we have democracy after all ;)

No, but using the word "playmo" in the forum name, and being a site dedicated to sharing playmobil, means we have to have their permission to exist. Doesn't mean we are affiliated with or officially endorsed by them, but we still must follow certain guidelines they came up with to be allowed to continue. If we don't, they have a right to shut us down for copyright infringement.

Glad I don't have playmo on my site name anymore (I followed their guidelines on that). Though I'm not into playmogore, regarding what is being depicted, I don't approve of klicky violence ;)
I never understood the stance about this subject. I know in Germany (and France?) they can't legally buy Dragon's excellent figures (since 99% of them seem to be Germans - I assume it sells, I don't know) - saw that in some 12" forum or something. RIDICULOUS, IMO.
(oh well. sorry for the OT)
As soldiers, I really like your customs...
-
oh BB & PFs, a bit of digression is ok with me allowing us (of different cultures) to understand (and respect) each other better but dont go further trying to win any argument...different cultures different rules :P
we share one same passion that cuts across our vast differences..lets respect each others' difference of opinions.
anybody still interested in white rabbits?

Sounds tasty to me. ;D
