his inner skeleton is grey in colour
-
Where did you find this?
-
How awesome would this be? Is it real?
-
cheng: looks like a Fi?ure to me!
What is this set? I don't recognize the number, Pgal

The grab-bag specials at TRU feature this weird grey internal skeleton.
Not only is the colour different than the original white, but the material is MUCH different. The original white internal frame is very hard yet flexible. If you've ever put together a plastic model kit airplane or car, you'll know what I'm talking about when I describe that the new GREY PLASTIC internal frame being used with newer clickies is very much the same as the cheap plastic used in plastic model kits!
The new grey internal frame is VERY CHEAPO PLASTIC and EASY TO BREAK! I could already see stress marks developing when I snapped the legs into both grab-bag clickies I recently purchased yestereday (which come 100% UNASSEMBLED in pack).
BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD PM!!! Not good at all!
-
Yes, this is from a surprise
seller fi?ure, one of the boy's series for the 1st half of 2012, which carry the N° 5157.
Nothing special about the inner frame anymore; the previous series also had this new grey frame.
Big question is: As it shows 5157 on the leaflet; where did you get the assembly-instructions for a still-to-be-released-surprise-fi?ure ?! ;)
-
this isn't a 'trivia' question...i thought some of you might already have this or heard about it...anyway I stumbled upon this in playmobilusa and there's no name assigned
...very strange (sounds like a line from the Beatles' "Penny Lane" ;D)

That is really bad news. Playmobil quality seems to deteriorate even with their brand new, ' novelty ' products . This is a worrying conclusion and a very unwelcomed one , playmobil sets and klickies and flexy plastic knowdays have taken playmobil toy line from a quality perspectieve even further lower than LEGO. Lego dont need to change such qualities , plastic density etc etc , shame really playmobil is cutting on corners to saty in the game probably.. not good news .... . :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

Interesting find, Cheng! A color Fi?ure would be very interesting :o! As far as the interior skeleton goes, I agree that it's a different kind of plastic, but I think it's so the Klickey can be more easily disassembled by pulling up on the head. I don't think it's cheap, just flexible, but I'm not an expert.

wow, I did not know that! I just beheaded my clicky as you stated, by simply pulling up on its head! No more painful HansBeck method! So that's a plus I guess! Just be careful when attaching your legs to the frame itself; the two extensions which the legs peg into at the pivots on mine seem flimsy IMO, esp with stress marks on both of them. But I'm no expert either. Maybe I got defected ones by chance.
-
I wonder if you did get defective ones. ??? I've had no trouble at all with mine. They don't seem cheap to me.
-
To me, the plastic of the innerframe of the
uprise surprise figures seems even more sturdy then the frame of the regular klickies (at least from those of the last 10 years or so) ...
I find the plastic of the frame is less flexible, and the surprise klickies' arms & legs sit less loose then those of many regular ones. But because less flexible, it is also somewhat less easy to adjust again once limbs become more loose with time... I usually bend the plastic innerframe to make arms & legs fit tightly again. But there are other methods as well; f.e. putting some small pieces of adhesive tape in the armpits of the innerframe and on the innersides where the legholes are.

looking at the instruction sheet... it looks like they might be making just 1 sheet for the whole line with a generic "how to put this together" instruction instead of being figure specific... just a thought :)
-
Yes, there only 2 differences on the instructions between the boys/girls (blue/pink) surprise figures and and/or different series; male klicky for the boys' and a female-klicky for the girls' ones, and the series-numbers.

I would say that is all this is, except the set number is different. :eh?:
-
I think the 5157 number is for the series 2 of figures... the website hasn't put up the instructions for a 5158... which assume is the number for the series 2 female figures... but they might soon. If you look at the instructions for the 5203 and 5204 series of figures... they have the full assembly instructions for the specific figure on them... this would have to be cheaper to print i would think... or maybe it isnt a figure at all... maybe it is a ghost

Otherwise that would be one boring special!
And about the inner frame again, I must have been just put off by something different....upon re-examination, overall it does seem a better design and improved over the VINTAGE frame (which tended to get loose easily). The arms and bend at the torso don't suffer from looseness. Add that with the easy be-head-ability, and this would make this frame superior to the last two. I can see the intent, and again, like I said, perhaps I got defective pair, as mine has stress marks on the leg joints. I will buy more soon and I hope I'll be able to tell I got an anomaly defect. (though I was still disappointed with my zorro's cape which kept falling off too due to cheaper plastic FOR SURE, since I have that same cape mould in an older version with thicker plastic that does NOT suffer from looseness).
I dunno, with newer clickies, it's hit and miss in terms of quality now vs. older quality. Some materials are definitely "cheaped out" on in the newer versions.

Uhm... Doesn't the popping ease come from the different neck, and not the frame?
-
Nope, the frame is modified so that the neck slides up it rather than catching.

That's because the heads are different.. isn't it?
Wonder if it's the combination. Will have to try that.

ok..thanks everyone..and we learn more again....so mystery solved and looking forward to Fi?ures II and 2012 ;D

Yes, it is. Old heads can be used with the new frames, but the new heads not with the old frames.
My personal opinion is, that the new inner frames hold the figure much better. Many Romans (and other new figures) have problems with the hip, but the Fi?ures stand very well.

I agree with Erwin here... I think it is the generic "how to do it" for the surprise figures.
-
all my surprise figures have come with grey skeletons, i thought everyone's fi?ures were like that? :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

eeeeh.. yeah! Why you say that?
Maybe I missed something... but they don't all come withh grey skeletons? ??? ??? ???
-
As far as I know, yeah.

i think Luis's statement confuses me too 8} ::) ??? :lol:

The blue and pink surprise figures that we got here also feature this kind of generic instruction.......and I tell you....the printing on the figures is really bad....way worse than the ones I got from Europe!!!! The machine is probably overused and the printing now becomes blurry. I am not blaming them....it is normal to save the best stuffs for the locals....sigh

Only for surprise figures.....the usual ones are like ivory colour...

i am confused 8}
All of you? ;D

All of you? ;D
adding to the confusion :P
can somebody assist?
-
Not sure what people are confused about but I will try to help
1. Fi?ure skeletons are grey... or gray if you spell it that way 8}
2. These instructions are generic so they don't have to print different ones for each figure and/or so they don't have to post multiple sets of instructions for the fi?ures online
3. In the past klickys have had all sorts of skeleton colors... (this is probably the point where I am no longer "helping" the confusion) just take a look at some of your early ones and you will find red, green, blue, yellow, and black skeletons... then look at the Caveman Special and a lot of the aboriginal warriors and you will find brown skeletons. However, yes, most klickys have and continue to have ivory skeletons.
Hope this helps clear up the confusion... but it probably won't ;D

Yellow skeletons ????? ??? ??? ???

Luis has multiple "personalities"... I gave them to him long ago. ;D

I'm confused as to what's confusing everyone!

vintage klickies came with skeletons of different colors? ??? :o i need to dismantle one now

yes, all my "me's" are confused :P
-
Yes, ancient klickys had the frame of a matching color! Much nicer, actually.
-
ah, so Luis is back to un-confuse us hopefully...you should adopt avatars with split personalities :P ;D
