My daughter is getting this mansion with all of the room sets for Christmas. We're thinking of picking up the 7483 Floor Extension and the 7484 Light Set to add on for her birthday in March.
Does anyone know if the light set will still work correctly with the extension in place? Are the included power cords still long enough to reach the top floor?

Having just watched as my husband installed lighting kits in my 5302, I think I can provide some insight.
Each floor needs a separate kit. So cords reaching will not be an issue. You'll just need an additional kit for the extension.

That is correct! The lighting kits only cover one floor and are fully contained on that floor. My extension floor is fine with its own lighting kit.
This is a wonderful gift! Just allow plenty of time for building it and installing the lights. PM has designed some lovely room kits for the 5302, so this is going to look wonderful once it is furnished. Have fun, Pgal

Good info, my daughter is also receiving 5302 with extension floor and. Was considering light kits. If I need one per floor she may have to wait :)

The extension floor for 5302 is lovely because it adds so much space for the extended family. The grandparents got a suite covering an entire floor of my extension kit.
The light kits can always wait or you can add them on just the bottom, main floor for the living, dining and kitchen areas.
The design of 5302 is superb allowing you to add extra square or rectangular floor pieces (Sys X) as decks on either side of the house; this makes an additional room or garage below.
I like the huge floor piece because it is strong (even though it is an irregular shape, which I find attractive.) Enjoy your new mansions, Pgal
