Title: A Halloween Story From Trolley's End
Post by: basilsdad on October 30, 2011, 22:38:46: One dark Halloween, a noise shattered the tranquility of the usually calm Trolley’s End Lodging House.

Professor Greylock was the first to hear the sound.

He checked to see if it was coming from Jason Cash’s room across the hall.
He gently knocked.

Jason hears the knock and jumps out of bed.

As Jason answers the door, the sound was heard again.

OOOOOOOOOooooooooooo!!!

“I thought I was hearing things,” said Jason. “Do you think it is coming from Pip Sparrow’s room upstairs? I hope he‘s not ill.”
“Lets go check,” said the professor.

The two men quietly climbed the stairs, only to find Pip already roused from his sleep.

“What in the world was that?” asked Pip.
“We thought it was you moaning.” said the professor. “Let’s check on Bud.”
They crossed the room and ascended the stairs to Bud Sawyer’s room.

Bud heard them enter and sat up in bed.

“What in the world?” said Bud.
“We thought it was coming from up here,” said pip.

The small assembly was now joined from the floor above by the Trolley brothers, Buck and Tuck.
“I thought the poker game broke up an hour ago!” joked Tuck. “What’s all the commotion?”
“Didn’t you guys hear the moan?” asked Pip?
“Just you guy jabbering away,” added Buck.

OOOOOOOOOooooooooooo!!!

“Saints preserve us!” said the Trolley brothers in unison.

The brave troupe made it’s way down the stairs, landing by landing, coming steadily closer to the moaning.

They carefully entered the room.

“It’s Gus snoring!” they laughed.
“Last time I give him any of my lasagna from dinner!” said Bud.
“Oh well, we may as well make the best out of a bad situation,” said Pip. “Who’s for a little midnight snack?”

When he first started spending the night indoors, I heard the noise and wondered what it was, a bit unnerving in the middle of the night. :lol:

Jenna, guess my sentence was confusing. The remark was in response to Tahra's comment about cats when they snore. Gus is my cat. :)
