Title: the ever-growing collection at my house
Post by: tenni on October 19, 2011, 23:51:14
Hello Friends,

I'm slowly figuring out digital photography and photosharing (not to mention how to post to this forum  ;D), so it is time to begin to post pics of the playmobil at my house. Three of us have items from many of the themes, so I'll use this thread to post pictures as I take them, and share any new purchases  :)9.

First, from my personal collection and some of my favorite pieces from the magic theme, which I almost always set up with the forest and medieval theme.

I realized as I'm posting these pictures that much of my pre-2007 items were acquired through ebay, craigslist, used toy stores, or garage sales. As such, they tend to be pieced together rather than in mint condition. I have rather enjoyed bringing these bits and pieces together to make something that I like, so I might occasionally share a story of how they came together.

I'll start with this picture.

The yellow, green, and white figure were a "buy it now" find on ebay, just the figures and the 3 robin hood hats. I really liked the hats, so I bought them. The scarves and cuffs came from a bag of mixed up pieces from a garage sale (this bag ended up containing some goodies!). The red figure was an extra from another ebay purchase, so I moved the red hat to him and bought the black hat from playmobil DS. The white feather in the black cap came from the garage sale bag. This happy little group are now amongst my favorites!

Those little bags of small bits are absolutely the best!  I just wish it was easier to find them.

Now for my very small Victorian collection. They are about to get a car  ;D, as I just ordered the old-timer from PM USA!

I don't have many knights in my personal collection, but there are enough for a small skirmish between red and green:

Last for now, some of the purchases I made before Christmas. The Christmas stuff (advents and market) have been opened, but the rest await a day when I have time to build them!!

I'm really looking forward to trying to combine the summer house and the conservatory. I got the inspiration from Birdie and her brilliant set-up on the thread below.

Tahra, yes, it is Schleich. The tent size is really perfect for the figures, and I liked how the green matched my green knights.

Got my first playmobil shipment of 2012 this week! I held back a little and just ordered the items that I had really been wanting. Will ask for the bakery for my birthday.

I'm going to do a review of the horse set on "report and review".

I REALLY like the old-timer car . Unfortunately, one piece of it broke during shipment. Playmobil USA is shipping a new part, and superglue will suffice in the meantime.

My victorian family doesn't seem to mind. They love their new car!

It has been AGES since I've posted, but I've finally found a free Saturday afternoon to get some pictures of some additions to my collection!

My family surprised me at Christmas with some vintage knights, and I bought the museum recently, so here they are together:

The museum is a fantastic building
And, the vintage knights are charming. I'm thinking I will make a set up with the vintage knights on display in the museum and the more modern klickies can then visit the museum.

great pics, tenni! the museum looks so great with the classic knights. after i bought ours, it did give my wife moment to pause and ask what exactly one would put in a medieval era museum.

Great museum! it's a planned purchase for this year, pretty much the only thing I planned on getting.  :)

Though it probably wont be used as a museum, but as a house, barracks and pretty much whatever it can be in a medieval setting. I want to use that roof to create a large tower for a castle set up too.  :)

Thanks everyone!

I do really like the knights. The table, benches, and throne that came with them are AMAZING! Very solid and durable. They have a worn look to them that adds to their charm. I remember that my friend had these knights when we were kids, and I really liked getting to go over to his house and play with them.

Great museum! it's a planned purchase for this year, pretty much the only thing I planned on getting.  :)

I highly recommend the museum. I think the building has unlimited potential. The accessories that come with it are a nice bonus.
