Another ship for my English/British fleet, this time the "HMS Renown".
Again a 5135-ship, but with a 3940(US 3286)-gundeck built in, and brown gun-carriages with oldstyle(*) metal-colour gunbarrels.
The stickers are made by "(bastel)valotte".
(*): the ones that fire Playmobil-bullits instead of the new ones with arrows
I earlier posted a close-up pic of the captain in a seperate thread (but without the new wig).

nice :)
for some reason I had no idea they made silver-coloured old-style cannons like that. Only the newer grey cannons that shoot "missile" style projectiles I was aware of. What sets do those silver old style cannons come in?
-
nice x 2 ;D

The barrel is rather a shiny metal and not silver I must say, I was wrong with describing the exact colour. Thery're much more shiny then the newer arrow-firing ones.
They came with sets 3029, 3860 and 4067 (each containing the blueblack schooner/sloop, and with grey gun-carriages), and sets 3133, 3174, 3619 and 3900 (each containing the redbrown schooner/sloop, with darkred gun-carriages). :)

That's a very good looking ship, Erwin. The stickers and everything make it look very authentic. I like that style of cannon in silver too! :)9

I missed this in October, Erwin, but it's a magnificent creation, beautifully done. One day will you post pictures of the whole fleet at sea for us, please?

Well, then I'll need a much bigger ocean livingroom or hobbyroom first ;D
That might be the case soon or it might be in a far future. It all depends on a belgian judge, who is in charge of governing my family's real estate since my father's Parkinson-desease got much worse and he was declared "mentally incapacitated" to govern it himself.
Since my dad didn't write down who should do the governing when he couldn't do it himself anymore, and though I'm my dad's only close relative still left, I've nothing to say about what happens with the family-estates till he passes away... :-\
I even had to move (I lived in a house owned by my dad) to a "temporarily" much smaller house provided by the local community, because the belgian authorities suddenly decided to sell the house I lived in, since they didn't have the time/willingness to make some repairs/renovations to that house. Repairs and renovations I could do, but wasn't allowed to do because officially I am not the owner but my dad is. 8}

Sorry to read about your dad :(
The law sometimes is really.. stupid. I suppose whoever made it might have meant well, but then in practice, it's a mess.
-
That's a real shame, Erwin. It seems that since he is permanently incapacitated and can't be expected to recover, they should put his estate in the hands of the next of kin. :-\ Laws can be so weird. ::) Your actually having to move out from the house you were already living in is crazy!
-
That sounds so wrong, Erwin! Some laws are so out of date it's scary! It's like an old Wild West law that is still on the books here that if you're caught stealing a horse you die by hanging,..... :o
-
There's a left-over law here that it's illegal for a woman to be in public after dark without a male escort. 8}
-
Theres no shame in being affraid of the dark.
You don't happen to live in Canada? (Sorry, I watch How I met your Mother a lot. :lol:)
-
I'm sorry to hear of your misfortunes, Erwin. Unfortunately, laws and governments oftentimes make little sense. :eh?:
