Title: help with unknown figure
Post by: cachalote on October 11, 2011, 02:56:34
:hmm: it looks like a pirate and it is being sold as a pirate.
??? does anyone know "who" is this figure or has more details about it?
:) thank you for your help.

I think he comes in one or more medieval sets from the 90's (f.e. as the knight from the oxcart-wagon I believe; you can't see it on the box because of his chest-armor) and I've made pirate-customs based on the torso.
I've never seen him packed like this before though...

This must be a fairly recent release, because of the egyptian theme shown on the catalog.

It could be a Funpark Giveaway-klicky, but I doubt they would still have used this figure.
Perhaps the packaging is not original...

I was wrong about the knight (with the oxcart) in set 3891; that one is the same as the one in 3890 Raubritter (brown shirt).

What you're looking for is the fat knight from sets 3123 & 3887:

That's correct, I have this guy too. Looks like he shaved though.

I remember being really disappointed with this guy because parts of his armor where light and other parts dark, he was fat and also unshaven.
But he kind of grew on me as some kind of unsavory knight. Still don't like the color difference in his armor though.

i would also have to say the bag looks suspect at least... it sort of looks like a fold top sandwich bag...

Hey! What are the other parts? There's a compass, and...is it a hat? Can you show us the printing on the other side of the bag, please?
Best,
Arnaud

Got to be a funpark give away, surely :-\

Using up old figures, perhaps (the ones that they can't fit into those 'exclusive' sets ;))

Damo :)

Damo is right, that's definitely a possibility. I got a real old-fashioned looking cunstruction worker last time with the kids' menu. With no printing at all, a set of tools und a traffic pylon.

He looks like from 25 years ago (has turning hands), He may be from one of the classic add-ons they couldn't sell completely.

:thanks: thank you for the hints my friends.
:( unfortunately the seller who is listing this item on ebay - http://www.ebay.de/itm/Playmobil-Pirat-ungeoffneter-OVP-/220871390680?pt=DE_Allesf%C3%BCrKind_Spielzeug_Playmobil&hash=item336cf5f5d8 - is not willing to answer questions.
so, my traditional "shipping to portugal possible? cost? payment with paypal possible?" will never reach the seller i feel i will never get this item.  :'(

Heh, kind of odd though that as a pirate he is clean shaven and as a knight he is not.  :)
