Wow! It worked! This was my 5th or 6th try. I guess I finally got the size correct.

I'll work on getting my collection up in a thread in "Collector's Corner"

Just an opinion.... a bigger size would be better to see more details...  ;)

You've got an allowance of 100kb (or just below) per attachment. Most images can easily be around 600 pixels wide and still be within that limit if they are compressed slightly using an image editing program. :)

Thanks, I really appreciate the feedback! They do seem a bit small. I'll test at the size Sylvia mentions below.

Good to know, and thanks so much! I was just randomly picking pixel sizes based on what I was seeing on other's photos. An unexpected but welcome result of my joining this forum is that I am motivated to get over my computer phobia !

You can also host the photos on a free hosting site like photobucket, and then copy and paste the image code here. That way you can post much bigger pics.

Thanks!! I think I will try that. I've got iphoto version 5 (very old) on my computer, and I can't figure out how to compress the photos.

Another learning adventure  ;)

You can also use Photobucket and Imageshack to copy and paste your photos from that website to your post. You have to have an account on those websites, though. Can't wait to see your photos!

A friend of mine swears by this free program (for windows): Paint.Net (http://www.getpaint.net/) - you might wanna give it a go.

 the size I like to use is 640x480. sometimes after you resize it and post it, it will still appear quite large on your computer for a day or two, but to everyone else it will look the new smaller size.

The sax guy IS the coolest klicky! So far, both he and the Jazz Band (3723) have been out of my reach. I've got a clown sax player, but its just not the same.  :(
