I think the red should be the overall colour except for the cab roof (which should be black) and the very front of the boiler (the smoke box) which should be black.

I think, too, the cab roof needs a more glossy finish (maybe it's just a first coat in the picture.)

Now if the Roof was to match The Roof of 7511 http://playmodb.org/setpics/7511.jpg

No, the roof needs to be gloss black.

I'd love to see a glossy red matching boiler....in which case I would do the roof red as well.  just my 2cents

I think:

• roof in black

• boiler in black or boiler in red and first segment and the funnel (stack) in black (like the »Länderbahnfarben«) and golden rings (e.g. like THIS one [KLICK!] (http://www.bahnbilder.de/name/einzelbild/number/474717/kategorie/suchen/suchbegriff/Manfred+Kopka.html))

Now That is something to try for.  I just need to get some
 good gold paint.

Do you have (where you live) spray colors for cars?
This color (Auto K of Kwasny) is very robust [KLICK!] (http://www.amazon.de/Auto-K-Racing-Felgenspray-Felgen-Spray/dp/B0029SI3UA). You can play with the colored models.

Are the hand grips silver? Then I would take silver instead of golden rings.

Yes they are silver.  I may try the silver on the boiler parts and a ring of silver around the stack.

wow, it's looking good!  You're going to fabricate a new roof for it?

How bout the slanted "pilars" at the front of the boiler on the sides..... should those be red too perhaps?  I like your silver accents.  I wonder how copper/gold might look.  I also wonder if you might find a way to add rivets to the panel seems?  Just food for thought.  It looks good already!

Very awesome paint job on the metallic parts!

I know the pillars would look good in red.  I started thinking about it after i put it back together.  It still needs some more detail pieces, but those will come as i find them.

Ok I made a new roof for this loco and found some new parts.  Picture quality isn't that great.

The new roof and the smoke stack look much better than the old one(s)!
(only the smoke stack is for my taste perhaps a little bit too long, but possible)

Thanks.  I've also been debating on shorting the smoke stack.

Hi,

the funnel is far too long.
Do you know an existing steam loco with such a funnel?
