Hello there to you all,
This is my first review, hope you like it. I must say, this theme is going to be one of my favorite themes.
I just couldn't wait for them and I hope you get a nice idea of this set too.

The smilodon's (saber-toothed cat) neck is made as if it looks furry. One big disadvantage, and a major disappointment, is the fact the mouth cannot be opened or closed. The size is just a little smaller than the PM lion and tiger.
The colors of the fire are quite realistic and the material is soft like, the bone is made of the harder plastic.
To be continued... (have to do the dishes first)

too bad about the mouths... but it was nice of them to put 2 sabertooths in the set so I only have to buy 1 set

The tools of these klicky's need to be assembled. You the need to put the spearhead and axe-head into the grip. Not much of a problem, however
the grip is made of hard plastic and the head and axeblade are soft. When putting them together I got the feeling it wil rip in pieces, like you have to handle it very subtle.

Finally, the klicky's (still asleep). Details of the cloths they wear are good, looks like animal fur. Also, the necklace with bones are great. Love them.
Another thing you notice is the heavy eyebrows, makes them look like neanderthal man. So maybe its a playmobil neanderthalensis instead of the common playmobil sapiens. ;)

Here they are on their feet with the Smilodon next to them. I think you can do some great customization with the heads and the hair.

Here they are in full action. In the background you see my girlfriend cleaning the house, while I'm playing with playmobil.
The price of the set was around 13 euro's (but it was a present from my girlfriend so no complaints whatsoever) and I think it's worth it. As far as i know the accessories are all new as are the smilodons. Worth the money.

Hope you liked the pictures!

I've been strolling toystores for a 2 weeks now, cause I knew they had to come out here in due time. Came out today! Even the weather was good. :)
The klicky in the skirt is a male btw.

Very good review, btw. :) Looking forward to seeing more.

great review :thanks:
too bad about the size - i understand they cannot be very big (the cats) but SMALLER than a lion/tiger?! :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:
i thought the fig in the skirt was a woman
-
It's definitely a man, looking at how low the top of the garment dips on one side. ;)

A little bit bigger would have been nice, I agree. Teeth are bigger though....much bigger in fact :D :D :D

I CAN NOT wait. Love them...
It's a shame the cats' mouth doesn't close... And I never imagined they'd be smaller..
Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the review, Connie!
I loved the big cats.
-
Thanks for sharing! I can't wait for this theme to hit the states!
-
Thanks for posting this. It looks like a great set. I am really looking forward to the whole series.

Some species of smilodons were quite small, as little as 150-200 pounds. So being smaller than a lion or tiger isn't too bad. Of course there were other species that were huge, and that would have been cool. Honestly, I'm not wild about the color they chose for them. It's a little bright.
-
they might have been thinking 'Ice Age'? that was a popular movie
i think the current lions skin tone is kind of flashy too, no? originally their color was a little more realistic imo
-
I love the set except for the lions mouth. I'm sure there must be a good explanation for the designers making that decision, but sorry, IMHO it was a stupid decision >:(

The need for a shave is a giveaway as well, in my opinion. ;)

 Yep. Though it could be a bearded lady. :P

Thanks for the review!!! Will soon be buying the complete set, patience though for now.

Great review , i shall be getting the entire of this theme, looks pretty good thought a bit limited in numbers and sets , still good though

 Yep. Though it could be a bearded lady. :P
And if her facial hair is that heavy, then no wonder her eyebrows (or vice versa!).
And with a tan like that - some ethnicities of cavemen are hairy like that ...
-
Great review especially for your first one :)9
I must agree with the comments about the size and non-moving mouth. I think it would have been a huge plus to the set if the cats mouth actually opened and closed so we can play "kitty eats the cavemen or stray animals" and the overall size is not encouraging. I would have wanted this fierce looking cat to have been a little bigger than the modern big cats. Smaller just does not make sense even if they are somewhat accurate. It would be like making the woolly mammoth smaller than the elephants
Overall I will also be getting this set and the whole theme many times over <:> Time to sell some junk lying around to fund these purchases :P

It's a great looking set, and I really like that new flames piece :yup:
