I've never saw this set. how old is it and what set #

I doubt this is a regular set... there are gold helmets in various old sets, but none of these guys in the auction came with such helmets, unless its a promotion ir something...
-
yeah.... old helmets on new guys. :)
-
I'm not sure I've ever seen those helmets before. :eh?: Maybe I just never noticed them. They're obviously old, though because of the color.
-
The gold colour to me looks a little 'fresher' than the colour of the old gold helmets :-\
But who knows :P
Damo :)
-
they are from this set (probably on others too) : http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250844294972

They're dressed like skypurr's friend, Ken.
-
Ken's brood.
-
I have a couple - can't remember if it's metal (my old age)
I'm sure they can be seen in THE PROCESS somewhere... I remember coming across them.

The firefighters are from the 1995 to early 2000 range and the gold helmets, if they are not customs, are from still earlier sets, posibbly even earlier than the one playmo1989 has linked to. (I can't check the sets as playmDB isn't available - the message Account Suspended cpmes up.)

Yes, way earlier, me thinks... from those all red firemen, no?
-
the gold helmatappers for the first time in set 3234 (1976) and then appears againi in a number of sets as opposed o the regular red helmet. It was used to signify the chief of the firemen group.

We're considering making two small old firemen groups in the rescue, since we have 2 of those tiny ancient truckys (it's a word. now.)
One in blue and one in red, and include women too! ;) Not sure if we have that old fire chief car..
