he recently turned 5.
actually, amazingly he knows how to treat the Pearl very carefully. He can click clickies to the ratlines and railings while navigating his hands adeptly about the ship without messing with the rigging. He knows all the places to put his hands in between rigging si it isnt disrurbed. He even knows how to unfurl the sails. the only thing i worry about is the stern lanterns being broken off by a passing foot if the ship is left unattended on the floor. they protrude higher than the stock stern ornaments, and though i mounted the over strong brass rods, i do fear the thin playmo plastic holes may crack if lateral pressure is applied to the tall stern lanterns, which would act as a lever. plus playmo plastic tends to become brittle over time, especeially on very thin parts. i have a few longboats who have already suffered this fate naturally.
so i only let him play with custom ships under supervision. :)

In my head I am trying to see what I would do in such a battle... ;D

:) a beautiful kid bp2006.
:'( my son is only 2 so it will take him some years to get to the right (and safe) playmo-age.
:) now he just looks at my ships from a distance.
